    Poor communication and services not as expected

    On arrival, as directed on booking details, waited outside Terminal 2 for shuttle bus, after 15 mins telephoned hotel and was told it no longer stops here and had to go to Terminal 1. Asked at reception why this was not communicated and there was no explanation. Had 6am flight booked and told could not have breakfast as it doesn't start till 5am. Also advised shuttle bus does not start till 5am either so would need to book a taxi. Finally after all of this was charged City Tax, again no previous communication about any of these facts or evidence of them being advertised. An IHG Member and this is the worst experience we've had. Lots of other hotels around airport which I'm sure are suitable for travellers.     Great service from all of the staff at the Holiday Inn in Marseille. Enzo was fantastic and looked after us so well. The reception staff were amazing too. Thank you and we will be back.

    Never again. Holiday Inn used to be known for standards

    - service: could not make up my mind, whether the staff serving food, being in reception and bar are hating the guests or the hotel more, but they certainly made sure it shows. but at least they probably enjoy the pool ( halter neck bikini top very clearly on display under the uniform at breakfast)- food: diabolical. hardly any choice in the restaurant and the ones they have, they still managed to mess it up. how can they serve cold food in hot skillets is a marvel. breakfast offerings are poor at least to say.- better you try to learn the basics in French as with English you do not seem to get very far with most of the staffHonestly: look for other hotel if you have to stay around here IHG Service, Owner at Holiday Inn Marseille Airport, responded to this review Hi BotsikaB, We appreciate your feedback.     Convenient, easy and comfortable stay for travel out of Marseille Regional Airport

    Great service-oriented staff, convenient location, nice restaurant on-sight. A quiet place to stay before or after travel to airport. Rooms are well designed and comfortable. Transportation to-and-from the airport is provided. A great value.

    Stayed here for 1 night before a cruise. Arrived into the gated hotel, reception staff spoke little English or otherwise ignored us when we asked something.. As a family with young children we asked reception if they did food they said no and advised us to go out to look for a restaurant or shop. Opposite the hotel seems to be have been taken over by police to park police vans and cars, they often go out with sirens on it felt dangerous as we walked along the road out of hotel so we turned back.. later on we noticed pizza at the bar so I don’t know why reception didn’t tell us that earlier when we asked about food in the hotel.. Cocktails expensive, room was ok but we didn’t feel secure being on the ground floor. Breakfast was nice although a small area, we tried sitting outside but people smoked.I would not stay here again, location bad if you want to go out of the hotel and staff really unfriendly and not helpful.
