  On arrival our first impressions were not great, the paintwork on all the walkway wood panneling was blistered and peeling from lack of maintainence. The reception was nice and the staff friendly and polite but once we were given our room we had to ask for another as the heating didn't work. The replacement room heating worked but the old double bed was sagging in the middle and the pillows were 'firm'. The crank handle on the window shutter was also broken. We were so tired after our journey we mentioned it to reception who said they would 'speak to maintainence', nothing happened. The buffet 'hot' food in the restaurant was not appetising at all, the food was pre-cooked, then reheated, placed on a 'hot plate' which was never switched on, result tepid unappetising food on cold plates . During our 4 days there was only one dish served that was tasty, a home made ratatuille. Even the boiler to cook boiled eggs for breakfast was broken. I cannot understand why the management of Louvre hotels, the largest hotel chain in France can allow this. You make your own choice but I will never stay in a Campanile hotel again.

  This is the most budget of all budget hotels. Really basic room with tired furnishings and wallpaper/paint peeling off the wall. Walls and ceiling are paper thin - could hear snoring all night long. Breakfast was really poor - only hot food being eggs you can boil yourself. Queue for coffee machine ridiculous. Hotel not even in a good location - adjacent to motorway, 20 minutes out of Marseille.   Don’t go here - very inexperienced staff - think some of them are dodgy one moment a beer is 3 euros - then it’s 7 then It’s 4 - same with the food don’t eat it it’s disgusting! Breakfast terrible staff don’t know what they are doing ! They give you change but you have to say I’m short etc ! No management about - no organisation - if you have a disability keep away from this place 60 steps up to another 60 down they don’t tell you this ! We will book elsewhere next Time! Rates are extortionate for the rooms - very basic smell of smoke and hash!!OMG- really!!room not good basic beyond belief! Smelly ! Takes you 20 minutes to find it! It’s just horrendous ! Worst hotel I’ve stayed in - in over 40 years travelling Europe .   Shocker. I have stayed at a lot of hotels. None as basic as this. Really why would you. Room, food. Nothing is good. Evening meal was really poor and no choice. 2 mains only.   Untidy, poor condition, noisy and shabby neighborhood. I dont recommend this hotel!

  Hotel was in poor condition. Clearly, there had been several customers smoking in the room we stayed in, so the smell in the room was quite bad. Room was shabby and in overall poor condition. Bed was not wery good. Neighborhood was noisy and untidy. About half of the staff knew what they were doing and the other half did not. For example, we tried to order one beer and one glass of white wine from the reception/bar - we got one beer and one glass of red wine.
