Very well situated near the port and Metro. The staff was attentive, room was large, clean with great amenities. One star lost due to inconsistent access to internet and elevator.I would definitely recommend staying here during a visit to Marseille. Amazing location in the port, average service and poor breakfast experience…

    rating01 Jul 2025

Starting with the positives….the hotel is amazingly located right in the centre of the port. It’s also right next to the tube, which takes you direct to the main train station. We had room 604, probably the best in the building with an oversized balcony that offered superb views of the bustle around the port. We sat up there for hours - amazing. The negatives then, receptionist when we first arrived was rude and uninterested - we watched him deal with an elderly couple who popped in to enquire about a room, one of whom had a disability scooter. It seemed all too difficult for him so they left.We asked the reception if we could have some padding for the metal outside chairs on the balcony as they were not the most comfortable and it was very hot so they weren’t the best to sit on. There was nothing available we were told and were advised not to use them if it was too hot. - really, we were on holiday and this is a 4* hotel. The hotel offers a buffet style continental breakfast, which is served from cupboards next to the reception and with seating in the same area. We paid upfront for 3 x morning breakfasts but were immediately sceptical when we saw where it was coming from. The next morning we came down…couldn’t get a small table as they had not cleared up from other guests….They had run out of croissants (it’s France !!)….Fruit was going mouldy…and we took a quick look under the coffee machine and Yeuch !! It was filthy.Only right when making claims like this to evidence them properly so all pictures attached. We advised the hotel that we wouldn’t be eating breakfasts there as the food prep and general cleanliness was poor.Strongly suggest you don’t have breakfast here, it’s overpriced and poor….Marseille is littered with breakfast / coffee shops. There is one only a few doors away from the hotel, which sold a superb variety of croissants and other pastries at a fraction of the price.Would we stay here again….unsure despite its amazing location in a fantastic diverse port, with so much to see and do. Camille A, Directeur général at New Hotel Le Quai - Vieux Port, responded to this review Dear customer, we are deeply sorry about the problem you mentioned in your review. We take note of everything in order to improve our services and quality. We hope to see you in better conditions in one of our hotels. Best regards. New Hotel Le Quai team

Great place to stay in Marseille

    rating09 Jun 2025

Nice room with comfortable beds. The location of the hotel is great with lots of restaurants and shops close by, and all the tourist attractions, including the hop on hop off bus within walking distance. The breakfast is worth paying for - it’s the same food every day, but the selection is good and the food is excellent. Camille A, Directeur général at New Hotel Le Quai - Vieux Port, responded to this review Dear customer,Thank you so much for your kind feedback. We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us.It would be our pleasure to host you again in the future.Best regards,Team of New Hotel Le Quai - Vieux Port

    Excellent

    rating25 Sept 2024

This hotels location is excellent not even a minutes walk straight onto the harbour, where all the bars, restaurants everything you need is on the doorstepRooms normal size double was comfortable and clean, there is tea/coffee facilities and a fridge in the room, they left 2 bottles of water a day in your room, staff was excellent nothing a problem, always there to help. The shower was massive and sooooo good. They do a breakfast but found it cheaper to eat out as so many restaurants and cafes on the harbour for better value. There is a few down and outs as you would expect in a town, but quite high on pick pockets and chancers, just keep your wits about you. Camille Antoun, Directeur général at New Hotel Le Quai - Vieux Port, responded to this review Dear Rachael, thank you for your feedback about your stay, we appreciate you taking the time to review your stay at the New Hotel Le Quai. We take note about your remarks. Best regards
