Location

This inviting hotel is situated directly beside Marseille's old harbour and offers wonderful views out over of the harbour and the cathedral of Notre-Dame De La Garde. Shopping venues, restaurants, bars, pubs and links to the public transport network are to be found close to the hotel and Marseille airport is located around 25 km away (taking around 30 minutes by car). The nearest beach as well as train station are approximately 1 km away and there is a park some 2 km from the hotel.

Facility

7 suites, 36 single rooms and 7 double rooms are available to guests in a 7-storey main building and a 4-storey auxiliary building. The reception desk is open round the clock. A baggage storage service and a safe are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities and a lift. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. Additional amenities include a TV room and a library.     We enjoyed our weekend in Marseilles. Our room was very small and cramped for a Prestige room. Not many wall plugs and mini bar and safe in very awkward corner. Had to put kettle on the floor to plug in. Shower useless as kept falling off wall. However, the balcony was brilliant overlooking the port. This was the best part of the room. Unfortunately, I left my bag in the taxi with phone, money and valuables and the very pleasant young man on duty that night helped me as he could speak French/English. His name was Yvanne but we didn’t see him afterwards to treat him. He contacted several taxi firms on my behalf and after three stressful hours I got my bag back. Thank you so much Yvanne!! The staff the remainder of the weekend on Reception were not as friendly as Yvanne. The outside noise overnight was very loud with street sweepers/washers and motor bikes. If you don’t like noise the port would not suit you. However, you can watch everything from your balcony and the City Pass is worth the money for sight seeing but be prepared to queue! We enjoyed good weather and lovely scenery and enjoyed our weekend away.

    A huge room & living area combined; great bathroom; a small deck with two chairs for a fabulous view of the old port. Many good restaurants & a daily fish, veg & cheese market. Highly recommended.

    Fun & Funky Hotel in Prime Location

    I loved this hotel where I stayed as part of a custom tour. The view over the Old Port, with Nôtre-Dame-de-la-Garde just above, was magical. The room was spacious with a cool mid-century vibe, extremely comfortable bed, and lovely tiled bath. Best of all was the artwork throughout the hotel: an incredible textile collection including many works by Jean Lurçat. My only complaint, echoing others, is that there was loud music beneath my room until midnight (on a September Sunday!) when I had to rise at 0500 to depart. Pro Tip: Ask for a port-facing room on a higher floor.

    All I can say about this hotel is: location, location, location! If you want to truly feel like you’re in Marseille, this is the place to stay. The hotel sits right on the Vieux-Port, giving you stunning views and direct access to the city’s heart.There may be other hotels nearby, but this one captures the authentic Marseille atmosphere in a way that really makes your stay memorable. From here, you can walk to restaurants, shops, and enjoy the lively harbor scene right at your doorstep.For me, this hotel is all about the experience of being in the perfect spot—it’s Marseille at its best

    Hotel La Résidence du Vieux-Port is a true gem!This arty hotel is full of stylish design details—from the artwork and furniture to the unique rooms.
