  Don't bother staying at this pit

  Had one night on our way to Austria on a coach trip and one night on the return leg.Whilst the city of Metz in the old town is beautiful, this hotel was like something of a horror storey. Should be demolished. Ibis Metz Centre Gare Metz, Guest Services / Front Office at ibis Metz Centre Gare, responded to this review Lawrence A,We are very surprised by your comment and we wonder whether your stay was actually at our Ibis Metz Centre Gare (red brand). We could not find any reservation under your name, and we have not received any coach trips to Austria at our hotel in the past few weeks or even the past few months. Perhaps you confused our hotel with another one when leaving your comment?   The hotel didn't have a car park as it was advertised in Booking.com. The triple room didn't have the 3rd bed, and it was small. dirty with very old furniture. The bathroom was not clean, and the expensive breakfast was very basic.

  Being a Gold Member, I requested a late check-out and it was backfired as if I requested something very extra ordinary! They didn't accept it. For the welcome drink voucher, you can only use it for fruit juice or water (not even for Coca Cola or beer, I asked and they refused to give me Coke or beer with that voucher). I was told that it was the decision of the Hotel Manager. So, the manager at Ibis Metz can change the rules of Accor as to his/her preference. I also wrote an e-mail about my complaint to Accor Headquarters.

  Good one night stay

  I booked a room a few days in advance on their own website and noticed rooms for 2 or 3 persons were the same price but the rooms for 3 persons were much bigger so booked that one. We parked the car in the underground garage and walked to the hotel (maybe two minutes). Checking was quick and easy. The room was big, the bathroom small. The bed was good.We did not have breakfast at the hotel but it looked okay in passing.

  The hotel is opposite the station and about a 20 minute walk from the historical centre, 5 minutes to The Pompidou Centre. There is a small restaurant and bar, comfortable rooms. A good budget hotel for a visit to Metz.
