What an incredible location and ambience in this restaurant. My first time was last year and I had to return for a second, which was equally special.I cannot recommend it more than I have - food, ambience, views make this a truly stunning and special restaurant.

Living a Fairytale in the French Riviera

    rating02 Feb 2026

Château de La Chèvre d’Or isn't just a hotel; it’s an immersive experience that allows you to become part of the history of the medieval village of Èze. For anyone traveling to Southern France, this is a bucket-list destination that justifies every bit of its prestige.Living Inside the Village What makes this resort truly unique is its layout. Many of the rooms and suites are distributed throughout the medieval village itself, nestled along the winding, cobblestone streets. Staying here means you aren't just visiting Èze—you are living in it. It feels as though you have a piece of this ancient landscape all to yourself.Exclusive Cliffside Access While day-trippers can explore the public paths, as a guest, you gain exclusive access to the hotel’s private cliffside gardens. These grounds are vast and beautifully maintained, featuring hidden contemporary sculptures and some of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and the Mediterranean.Pro Tip: Be prepared for plenty of stairs. The terrain is incredibly steep and can take hours to fully explore, so wear sensible shoes. Every corner offers a world-class photo opportunity.Culinary Excellence The combination of the chateau's history and its world-class dining is unbeatable. The property is home to the 2-Michelin-starred La Chèvre d’Or, which offers a creative, high-end gastronomic performance. For something slightly more casual but equally scenic, Les Remparts provides a stunning bistronomic experience on the terrace.Verdict It is undeniably expensive, but the exclusive access, the historic charm, and the sheer beauty of the location make it worth every penny. If you are in the region, do not miss the chance to stay here.

    5th Stay

    rating13 Oct 2025

This was our 5th stay - same hotel and same suite. Our last time was almost 1 year ago to the day. The staff are always great. From the front gate valets to the hotel manager - everyone is wonderful and welcomes you back like an old friend. The room and serve are familiar which makes traveling more enjoyable.Since my previous reviews have been very positive I will tell you the very few negatives I have about the hotel and Eze village in general: We do not like to get overly fancy in our dining and dress these days so, we don't use their top restaurant. As for the other restaurants and room service menu's I will say that they have been completely revamped and are quite limited and less that stellar. I'm referring to selections and not quality of the food. Some things are better left alone. We had rented a car so, we mostly ate lunch in the surrounding villages. The valets were great and our car was always received promptly.Room service /housekeeping could be a little better process. Often used glasses are left behind rather than replaced with clean ones. Likewise, hand towels are in short supply as are washcloths. Clothes hangers are still something you need to ask for because they only have a few in the closet space. There is a nice little coffee machine but, my requests for 'no decaf' coffee (asking to double up on regular) took a couple of days to get right. We also had to ask our room service person for extra sugar because that was limited also.As for Eze village in general - while it is still as quaint and lovely as ever, I feel this will be our last visit because we are not in the shape we once were and the steps in the village are proving a challenge. Even the steps to get from our room to reception or to the front gate can wear me out. We may never return but the times we've had there are cherished memories.

Breathtaking view, food and service excellent, just a few tweaks needed

    rating04 Oct 2025

Was able to snag a lunch reservation only after asking my hotel, The Hermitage, to make one because they declined when we asked ourselves… The food and the staff were otherwise great, though the option for tipping (15, 18, 20% if I recall correctly) on the card reader at the end of our meal felt tacky.
