    Best Western Balaruc needs improvement

    Restaurant is a disaster, the whole menu needs to be reviewed, the terrasse needs to be re-thought as well as the restaurant. People are marvelous (kind, helpful, smiling) It's a pitty they don't have a better tool.

    We stayed here for five nights during our stay as curistThere rooms are acceptable. CleanThe rest of the infrastructure of the hotel is really poor. Looks more like a youth hostel. The description is a hotel it’s really too high. We will of course never got there

    We had booked this hotel as we were on a bike trip in the area. I called the hotel prior to booking to check that they had somewhere we could safely store our cycles and was advised that there was cycle parking in the hotel garage. I didn't expect to be then be charged €10 for leaving our 2 bikes overnight! I have never before been charged for cycle parking.The hotel itself was ok, but just ok, nothing to encourage you ever to return. The room was small but comfortable, and the bathroom was fine. Breakfast the usual self-service selection of pastries, yogourt, fruit, plus some cheese and meats. All okay but nothing special. The hotel would be fine for a couple of noghts but the rooms are too small to want to stay any longer, and don't stop here if you're on a cycling holiday.

    Simple and soulless

    Hard to give more than 2 stars. We needed an overnight on our way from Italy to Spain and decided to stay here. Good thing that it was only one overnight. I simply don't get hotels that are satisfied with offering something so soulless. Absolutely no heart or idea in the hotel and rooms. The rooms are ok, small and uninteresting but clean, bathroom is oldstyle with shower inside a bathtub.I cannot recommend something that seems to exist for no reason. Passion is easy to spot, you won't find it here. Unfortunately the standard of the Best Western chain seems more and more to reflect this type of hotels.For the rest its up to you.

    They should have finished before opening

    This hotel changed management a couple of months before we came there in July.Friendly staff at reception, but not very efficient. The rooms had lots of spots that needed attention. And when we tried to call reception for a question, the phone wasn't working. Going down to reception, no one was there, so I left a note! Later they told us that, indeed, the phone system was out. Great, they should have told us that when checking in.Apart from the fact that the hotel wasn't what we could expect of a Best Western, we'll not come back to this place, because Balaruc is just a sad seaside resort with too many ugly apartment buildings, lots of the apartments empty and for sale or for rent. They have an underground parking garage, which is good, but the first part of it has an extremely low ceiling. Even for us, being of average height, it seemed like coming down on us, but people over 6 ft (1.80 m) will have a big problem there!
