    Stay before cruise

    rating01 Jun 2026

Staff were really helpful and friendly. The bar area was lovely and food good. The location of the hotel is great just by the old town and beach. We found the room was a little tired although very clean and comfortable. The terrace area was nice and peaceful but the chairs needed updating. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Blood & urine on the mattress, mould in the bathroom... TVs falling off of the wall...

    rating01 Jun 2026

Without question one of the worst hotel experiences I have had.The hotel may well respond to this review by saying I was offered the opportunity to move rooms. That is true. What they fail to mention is why I needed to move in the first place.Room 105 should never have been sold to a paying guest. On arrival, I found heavily stained carpets, stained cushions, mould in the bathroom, curtains that did not close properly, evidence that someone had been smoking cigars in the room, an unknown substance on the headboard and, most disturbingly, blood and urine stains on the mattress.Having just arrived for a holiday, I chose not to spend my first afternoon unpacking, repacking and moving rooms. I decided to tolerate the situation and make the best of it.That decision was taken out of my hands later that evening when the television fell off the wall.At that point this stopped being a cleanliness issue and became a serious health and safety concern. I immediately went to reception and insisted on being moved because I no longer felt safe in the room. The hotel subsequently attempted to present the room move as though it was some form of goodwill gesture or compensation. It wasn't. It was the absolute minimum that should be expected after placing a guest in a room that was both unhygienic and unsafe. What has frustrated me even more than the condition of the room is the complete lack of customer service afterwards.Following my stay, I contacted the hotel repeatedly in an attempt to resolve the matter directly and reasonably. I received a single response from someone called Sonia. I replied immediately, setting out my concerns in detail, including the hygiene issues, the safety concerns and my request for a partial refund.Since then? Silence.Five further emails have gone unanswered. No acknowledgement. No meaningful investigation. No attempt to engage. No attempt to resolve the complaint. For a hotel that markets itself as a quality destination, the aftercare has been every bit as poor as the room itself. The much-publicised beach club is also somewhat misleading. Hotel guests are required to pay an additional €30 to access it. You cannot charge purchases back to your room, reservations are not accepted, and entry is on a first-come, first-served basis. It operates more like a separate business than a genuine hotel facility.Ironically, the room I was eventually moved into was perfectly acceptable. That only reinforced my view that Room 105 was wholly substandard and should never have been occupied.Blood and urine on a mattress.A television falling off the wall.Mould in the bathroom.Repeated complaints ignored.Five unanswered emails. The room was unacceptable. The response afterwards was worse. One star.
