    Worst 2nd TIME BACK

    rating29 May 2026

The Hotel Byakko Nice does not offer a warm welcome to allow you a pleasant stay. Had a good experience 2025 for 19 days. I paid nonrefundable 3 months in advance REQUESTING THE SAME ROOM I had: double deluxe most expensive, with balcony, facing front street, upper floor. I arrive to a room with one small window and immediately complained. That first night they switched me to a back room overlooking a family with childrens toys outside my window, no balcony, outlets were too few, lighting was awful. The next day I requested a change. Had to cancel my day plans which was a train ride I was looking all year forward to because I had to wait until noon to see the room. This room, still had no balcony. That made 3 changes. I measured the shower- 2 1/2 ft square. no shelf for soap or shampoo. No window in bathroom. Again, no place to put your clothing away, no luggage rack, 1 reading light, 2 outlets, I complained again.I was paying the same top dollar in each room and these were completely different rooms. Next change was the forth & last time. That day I also canceled my plans, again bc I had to wait til noon and this days plan was a train into Italy. I lost my money on that days outing. I had four days left. Finally I was given the room I had in 2025. What they needed to do was refund my money bc I know the rate was less than what I paid for the lessor quality rooms - 3 nites paying top dollar. I had to take the 2 chairs from the balcony , no longer able to sit outside & enjoy a glass of wine... bc I used them to place my luggage on, otherwise I'd be using the floor to get out my daily clothing and sundries. For the full week I never unpacked bc not only did I move 4 times, but there was not even a shelf for my clothesThat first nite, at 4:20 AM heat automatically went on in the first room given- that's right the one facing a courtyard, depressing, small, not supreme room I was paid forDo not stay here. They give the worst pillows. For my 7 day stay, I had a stiff neck due to their hard, very thick- 4 inches high -pillows. My first 2 showers and sinks i measured, Shower 2 1/2 ft square, with no shelf to put your soap, shampoo, etc. This is very dangerous. I am only 100#s, however, you would not fit in if you were a wide, stocky person. As a result I used the incredible small sink- smallest I have ever seen- to do my showering. Unable to wash my hair.I expressed my concerns in my most curious way. The last 4 days I would not talk to them at all!!!They care about new business. My loyalty to return meant nothing!!!! they provide no service. u must argue ur case again & again , btw, French are not even front office-they are from Easterm Europe and chat to each other while Iwas taking- probably about me!! What they needed to do, if they cared or were intelligent business pp was tell the truth in March that the room I had a year rior was not available. Instead it was advertised and I PAID FOR IT!!! Responsable Relation Client, Propriétaire at Hotel Byakko Nice, responded to this review Dear Madam,We confirm that your reservation was for a specific room category without a balcony. Prior to your arrival, we offered you an alternative room with a balcony, which you chose not to book. Upon arrival, some of the requests made concerned room types and features that had not been reserved and were no longer available. Our team always acted professionally and proposed all possible solutions within the limits of the hotel’s availability. We regret that your stay did not meet your expectations.Kind regards,Natalia Desy, General Manager

    Nice mini break

    rating10 May 2026

We had a mini break in Nice and booked here via Jet 2. It's a very small, but friendly hotel in a good location near the train station and main shopping areas and about a 25 minute walk to the old town and the sea. The hotel rooms were very small, but as we were only there for 3 nights, this wasn't a big issue for us. The breakfast area was also quite small, but I liked the funky colourful chairs and the notice board, which made the room quite welcoming. The food was reasonable, but I couldn't see any teabags, which was a bit disappointing. We made use of the sunlounge area at the top and that was pleasant, though a bit noisy with all the bikers and emergency service vehicles, but that's not the hotel's fault. All in all we had a nice time and would definitely come back and explore more of the area. Responsable Relation Client, Propriétaire at Hotel Byakko Nice, responded to this review Dear guest,Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience following your stay with us in Nice.We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your mini break and appreciated our convenient location, close to the train station, shopping areas, and within walking distance of the Old Town and the seaside. It is also wonderful to know that you found our team friendly and welcoming. We appreciate your comments regarding the room size and breakfast area. As a city hotel, some of our rooms and common spaces are indeed more compact, but we are pleased to hear this did not significantly impact your stay. We are especially glad that you enjoyed the atmosphere and design of our breakfast room, including the colourful décor and welcoming touches.Thank you as well for mentioning the rooftop sun lounge. While the lively city environment can occasionally bring some outside noise, we are happy that you were still able to relax and enjoy the space. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the tea selection at breakfast. Your comment has been shared with our team as we are always looking for ways to improve our guests’ experience. It was a pleasure to welcome you, and we are truly happy to hear that you would consider staying with us again to further explore beautiful Nice and the surrounding area.We look forward to welcoming you back very soon.Warm regards,Natalia Desy, General Manager

    Stay somewhere else

    rating03 May 2026

The room was very small, hardly any room for suitcases, the bed was against a wall and there was only a tiny shell by the bedside. No closet, just a small open space with a few hangers. No place to hang dresses. The wifi was catastrophic and no mobile coverage at all. Only French channels, no international news. The breakfast room was small, cramped and noisy, but breakfast was ok.I don’t understand all the good reviews but perhaps their rooms were better than the tiny shoebox we got. I strongly advise against staying at the Byakko Hotel in Nice. Needless to say, we won´t be back! Responsable Relation Client, Propriétaire at Hotel Byakko Nice, responded to this review Dear 400ingerl,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Your comments are essential to help us continually improve our services and guest experience. We sincerely regret that your stay did not meet your expectations. We hope to have the opportunity to change your mind on a future visit.Best regards,Natalia Desy, Manager

Agreeable and value for money hotel Byakko, Nice

    rating29 Apr 2026

The Hotel Byakko delivered everything it promised; good location, close to public transport, exceptionally helpful reception staff ( a shout out for Mehava!), great breakfast included in the rate and the room was well equipped ( albeit the bedroom and shower room were quite small). Complimentary tea/coffee offered in the afternoon and flavoured water was available all day at Reception ( together with free sun cream and insect repellent which is a thoughtful touch. There is a pleasant terrace on the 6th floor. My only quibble was the frequent long wait for the single lift serving the whole building. Responsable Relation Client, Propriétaire at Hotel Byakko Nice, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you sincerely for your wonderful feedback and for highlighting our central location as well as the helpfulness of our reception team. We are delighted you enjoyed our breakfast and thoughtful amenities, including refreshments and our sixth-floor terrace. With the arrival of spring on the French Riviera, our rooftop is the perfect spot to relax in the sun after exploring Nice. We look forward to welcoming you again, and remind you that the best rates are always available when you book directly on our official website.Kind regards, Natalia Desy, General Manager
