    Not a great stay

    The hotel was a  let down and does not meet the Holiday inn or IHG hotel chain standard.For one the girl at the reception usually on duty  during evening hours seems to be a novice.All she did was smile and apologise . When we checked none of the lights or plug points were working.We had to fgure out ourselves  that the MCB had tripped .The girl just said sorry no technician is available .The room given to us was claustrophobic with only a small single.window with a view of building and train line.Nothing much to say about the room except that housekeeping could be better.There is no functional restaurant for any food items  other than breakfast . One is sent to the more expensive next door  Crowne plaza restaurant for even a bottle of water.You need to navigate stairs or the ramp to reach the hotel entry as it is on an elevation vis a vis the road.The are reports of groups of pickpocketers operating in the  hotel area especially at the nearby tram, bus and train station.Overall didn't have a great experience staying here.     I had a very disappointing experience with this hotel.On March 12, three payments of €351.19 were charged to my card, although I was told only one payment would be processed. As of today, no refund has been received.The hotel claims a refund was made on March 10, but this is not reflected in my official bank statement. I have provided all necessary documents, yet the issue remains unresolved.Even more frustrating is the lack of communication — the hotel does not answer calls, provides no follow-up, and shows no willingness to resolve the issue.This is highly unprofessional and unacceptable.     This hotel is across the road from St. Augustine Train stop, and right near the airport, all walking distance even with bags. One stop from the main train station Nice Ville. It was very clean and I was on the 8th floor, nice view. The staff was very nice and helpful to me. The building shares with Crowne Plaza next door, where they have meals served in and outside terrace. My hotel came with breakfast which was adequate, except there was no toaster to toast bread. I did not appreciate the servers continually removing empty plates on your table while eating, and placing an entire tray of dirty dishes on your table while removing from other tables. Also, better attention to empty coffee machines, and empty chafing dishes. Also the lid for the eggs was cast iron and not easy to remove or replace for some of us.There really is not much around there without walking a distance.

    My booking was handled confusingly. After reserving through the IHG app, I was asked to pay via an external link. IHG One Rewards Customer Service initially told me it was a scam, so I ignored the email—but my reservation was subsequently cancelled. Only after further inquiry was the email confirmed genuine, and I had to make payment through the link, which felt insecure and poorly managed.My membership at IHG entitles me to late check-out (subject to availability). At this hotel—unlike other IHG properties I have stayed at—staff did not ask about late check-out at check-in. When I requested it myself, I was told it could only be confirmed on the day of departure, and my request was ultimately not granted. While I fully understand that late check-out depends on availability, seeing on the day of departure that the same room type was still available on the app made the process feel inconsistent and poorly managed.Further, I found the overall attitude of the staff disappointing. They often came across as either grumpy or indifferent, which reinforced the impression that guest experience was not a priority at this property. Like other guests, I was also asked to pay city tax twice and on their second request, I was asked to show proof if I really had paid already.Overall, these issues reflect a lack of clarity, consistency, and professionalism. Booking through the IHG app should provide security and peace of mind, but that was not my experience here.
