    Filthy dirty and terrible staff

    rating26 Apr 2026

Horrendous hotel - do not stay here. Couldn’t access the hotel via the gate, as there was no call button and no signage for access. Had to eventually call reception, who did opened the gate. With a private car park you have to pay €10. Checked in, and stayed on level 1. The smell in the hallway was of bad fish. This smell continued into the bedroom. Things got worse, when we entered our bedroom to which there was an old tshirt cut up and used as a cleaning cloth left in our bathroom. Obviously left behind by the cleaners. The mirror was so dirty you couldn’t see yourself in it as the dirt was rubbed around. Dead bugs on the floor throughout our room. The worst, and most disgusting element was hairs all over the bed linens. Thankfully we were only there for less than 24 hours, as the walls are also paper thin, allowing you to hear everything in the bedrooms beside and above. Once again; while trying to leave the gate would not open. We called reception three times, and who kept hanging up. Eventually, I decided to walk into reception and ask them to open the gate, however the reception was empty and so was forced to call reception while standing there. Only then did a member of staff come out. When I asked them to open the gate this took another 10 minutes to operate. Overall the hotel is filthy dirty, with a horrible smell and horrendously bad staff. Would rather sleep in the car than in the room.

    Average but expected better

    rating06 Sept 2025

The hotel was clean and the location was great, very close to a beautiful beach. But there were some things which I expected to be better and were disappointed with:1. The staff seemed hesitant to give us extra towels for some reason.2. There was no shampoo in the showers, and our bathroom door would not fully close or lock, and after one shower the whole shower and part of the room was filled with water on the floor. We had to switch rooms3. The minie fridge was leaking and a shelf in it broke4. Room service always cleaned up everyday, but one day they left our dirty used coglass coffee cups unwashed and unchanged on the desk5. The breakfast buffet was small and did not have much variety. I would rate it 5/106. The staff weren't very available. Most of the time we would go to the reception and there was nobody there.7. The swimming pool's water was very clean but ICE COLDThe positive points were:1. Great location right by a glorious, beautiful beach2. The rooms were clean3. Most of the staff, when available, were friendly and niceOverall it's not a bad place to stay if you aren't expecting very special or luxury treatment, good enough for a trip where you don't spend much time in the hotel.

    A GREAT STAY

    rating17 Aug 2024

We spent 2 very nice weeks at Hotel Bahia in July-August. The room is exactly as shown on the website, good AC, great garden. Beach (relatively small pebble) very close, clean, not overly crowded. We will definitely return next year, hoping to get the same room. Thanks to the staff, all employees were very nice to us. Warm regards, Gabriela Bodea & George

    Terrible customer service

    rating30 May 2024

We had 2 nights in the Hotel Bahia. My husband is coeliac and the hotel were advised well in advance that he required a breakfast which was gluten free. No gluten free bread or cereals were provided on either day (despite a gentle reminder) so, although ham, yoghurt etc. were available, there were no carbohydratesSecondly, we had left 2 bike cartons for transporting our bikes safely back to the UK in the hotel. We were told by the hotel where to store them and the hotel were advised when we would be using them. When we turned up to pack the bikes, we discovered that the bike cartons had been shredded and jettisoned. One friendly receptionist found 4 cardboard boxes which we were able to tape together into a covering for the bikes. But they were neither rigid nor robust, and this led to damage to one of the bikes. When I complained, the hotel were dispassionate and defensive in their response.

    Worst hotel I’ve stayed in

    rating12 Aug 2023

This place was very disappointing. We arrived for our honeymoon and was so excited to stay here after seeing the pictures online but we’re very dissatisfied the whole time. When we checked in the room was very dirty - there were stains all over the walls, dirty coffee cups, marks all over the bathtub, and stains on the headboard. The whole room smelt awful and reaked of cigarettes. We immediately asked for another room but the hotel was full. Also we had a terrace but it over looked the parking lot and did not feel very safe. One of the ladys that worked there offered us free breakfast because of our dirty room but that did help because we still had to stay in a dirty room. The cleaning lady came back and changed the coffee mugs and sprayed a few spots on the wall but my husband had to do a lot of the cleaning himself to try and get the place livable. We tried to air out the smell by keeping the windows opened but it barely worked. We were trying to see if we could get a refund and book somewhere else but because we prepaid we wouldn’t be able to get all of our money back. Also, 2 out of the 3 days we were here, we were not given access to the private beach because it was full. The only reason we booked this hotel was for the beach so this was very disappointing. We were able to get spots by the pool but it was filled with screaming kids the whole time and also seemed very dirty. This place is rated a 3 star hotel but should be rated a 1 star hotel because of how dirty and run down it is. Graffiti on the pool chairs, elevator doesn’t work, etc. The pictures posted are from after the SECOND round of cleaning. Typhaine Noel, Propriétaire at Hotel Bahia, Villeneuve Loubet, responded to this review Dear Sir, we would like to apologies for the trouble you had and bad experience; you can be sure we have take the necessary steps with the management team.
