    We had an enjoyable stay at this hotel for our three days in Nice. The hotel was both elegant and modern. Eric at reception was very helpful with questions, recommendations and reservations. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The bathroom was large and had everything you needed. Our one complaint was that there was no drawer space at all to put clothes. We had a lovely corner room. Breakfast was on the high side at 22 euros per person but was very varied. Stay also included amenities of the hotel next door, which we did not utilize. the location was good, within good walking distance of most things we wanted to see. highly recommended.

    Be Aware: Most Amenities Are at Another Property

    I extended a work trip in Cannes and decided to spend several days in Nice. At the recommendation of a local destination management company, I booked a stay at Hôtel Gounod.Based on the hotel’s website and marketing materials, my expectations were high. The property appeared to offer newly renovated rooms, a rooftop restaurant, a beautiful pool and spa, and a modern fitness centre. Unfortunately, what became clear after arrival is that many of these amenities are not actually located at Hôtel Gounod itself, but at a separate partner property. The only amenity directly available at the hotel was essentially the guest room.While access to neighbouring facilities may technically be available, this distinction was not immediately obvious to me during booking and left the overall experience feeling somewhat misleading. Guests expecting all advertised amenities to be onsite may be disappointed.The room I received also looked very different from the images that influenced my booking decision. Rather than feeling updated or luxurious, it appeared dated and quite austere. The décor, dominated by mustard yellow tones, felt heavy and outdated, and the room overall lacked the comfort and elevated atmosphere I had anticipated.This review is not to say Hôtel Gounod is entirely without merit, but rather that the reality of the stay did not align with the impression created through the hotel’s online presentation. Managing expectations more transparently would significantly improve the guest experience.

    Wonderful 3 nights!

    We stayed originally here for 1 night at the end of our trip. Room was very comfortable, little more difficult as we came from an apartment! Frida at the front was excelled and very helpful when our Lufthansa flight was cancelled they were able to accommodate us another night. Then the flight was cancelled again and we stayed another night! Our second room was larger and was provided more room with our luggage. You’re able to use the next hotel to use the rooftop bar, pool & hot tub. We enjoyed this our first day and our last day before our 7pm flight.Thank you for a wonderful 3 nights.

    Charming Stay in Nice – Spacious Comfort, Perfect Location, and True Côte d’Azur Lifestyle

    Wonderful stay at Hôtel Gounod in Nice! I stayed in room 301, which was very spacious with a separate bedroom and living area – you really feel a piece of the true Nice lifestyle there. The hotel is a beautiful historic building in a fantastic location, with everything easily reachable on foot. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Additional amenities like the gym and pool in the neighboring building were a great bonus. Highly recommended!

    Lovely reception, had a great room on first floor with juliet balcony. Well Appointed, strange that TV rather than mirror over dressing table. Bathroom hilarious with massive shower door meaning the other person had to vacate the room while one person got in. Minor grumbles, friendly staff. A hidden gem.
