  This property is well located on a river in walking distance of the center with its own parking lot, and the restaurant looked attractive, altho we didn't sample it. It was clean, and is a rare budget property in pricey Vence. But it so needs a facelift; there was no fan despite the heat; and the room and bathroom were both quite small. But I would stay there again if it weren't in the hot summer, as the pluses outweigh the minuses to me.

  Delightful owners but this hotel is waiting to die

  Possibly the only reason you're checking out this hotel is because it's the only 2 star hotel in the town, the location is good or you're due to stay here on a self guided walking trip. That's why we ended up here for two nights with World Expeditions/Utracks. Monsieur et Madame are delightful and the only reason that we didn't insist on being moved. The hotel has had it's hayday and it feels like stepping back into time while it waits to die. The restaurant is closed and now hosts the office area, exercise bike and cusions for the outdoor area that's tired and jaded with broken parasol frames and dead chairs. In fairness, while our room was circa 1950s, it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was included in our package but a croissant would have been 3.50 Euros extra! Utracks agreed to pay for our croissant which were absolutely delicious and waited for us like trophies on the warmth of the coffee machine. We were served diluting orange juice - a first ever in France but the coffee was delicious and I hope that wasn't just because we had complained to Utracks about the standard of the hotel? One night would have been okay to rest weary bones after a long walk but two nights in this depressing and dismal environment is unforgiveable - insist on another hotel!

  10 mins walk from town centre, owner plays golf, good value.

  I play golf, and I eat. The Lubiane is a small hotel, 14 rooms, 10 minutes walk from the town centre. The restaurant is closed this season but Vence is overequipped with restaurants. The owner plays golf. There's a lot of cultural stuff around Vence as well but as I said, I play golf.I ate at Luigi's, the Peyra, the Jade, the Clemenceau. Avoid the Troquet.No need to stay on the coast, stay here.
