Location

The charming hotel is located in the heart of the well-known medieval village of Saint-Paul de Vence, inside the ramparts, with easy access to public transport. It is about 5 km from the train station. The hotel is in the countryside between Cannes and Nice, located 20 minutes from Nice Côte d'Azur International Airport (some 15 km away) and 7 km from prime beaches.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1511. Guests have a choice of 7 junior suites, 6 suites, 3 single rooms and 3 double rooms located in a 3-storey main building and an auxiliary building. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk are on hand round the clock to assist guests with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. Additional facilities include a newspaper stand. Parking spaces are available to guests travelling by car. Other services include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service, a hairdresser, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Bicycle storage is available to guests. There is a bike hire service as well. Complimentary newspapers are available. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning, individually adjustable heating and a fan. Some rooms include a balcony. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. Further amenities include an ironing set and a trouser press. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a DVD player, a plug adapter and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. A turndown service provides guests with additional comfort in the evening hours. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror, bathrobes and a telephone are available for daily use. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

A sun terrace is a great place to while away the hours. There are many ways to relax or stay active at the hotel, including cycling/mountain biking, golf, a gym, a spa and massage treatments. Parents can unwind while the kids can participate in an entertainment programme full of fun activities.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a dining room, a breakfast room, a café and a bar. Guests can enjoy the culinary delights of the non-smoking, air-conditioned restaurant, which provides high chairs for children. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board and full board. A continental breakfast gives guests many delicious reasons to rise and shine. At lunch and dinner, guests can order à la carte or choose a set menu. Diet meals and vegetarian dishes can be prepared on request. In addition, special catering options and picnics are available.

    Beautiful hotel exceptional service Lots of stairs

    Service was exceptional Sandra and Sam went above and beyond to help me source and obtain a new curling brush Sandra located one and Sam picked it up Sandra also sourced a new cushion for my wheelchair. Food was excellent. I took off a star as it wasn’t clear there was no elevator and the room I choose had steps , we were moved to another room at additional cost . This is a wonderful for someone without limited mobility. I think that should be made clear . Fortunately I can walk and do stairs with difficulty.

    This is just a delightful hotel with rooms that are lovely and with all the amenities and with a staff that cannot do enough for you. The only thing that one needs to be aware of as many of the reviews have said is that the hotel is neither easy to get to, find or park anywhere near but that is because of Saint Paul de Vence and nothing particular to this beautiful hotel. Highly recommend.

    Best salad I have ever had - service was second to none.Simply amazingThe deserts were huge and amazing.I am not staying here - just called on our last day before the flight homeWill try to stay here next time - the restaurant for lunch was top drawer.

    Relaxing Hotel Experience Within a Charming, Picturesque Medieval Village

    The village of St. Paul de Vence sets the tone for the experience of the hotel--it's a lovely medieval village, set inside the walls of an intact perimeter. Small shops--galleries, parfumeries, cafes, gelaterias, restaurants--several hotels and private apartments are tightly, but cozily, packed into what is a charming place to spend a few days. The hotel itself is elegant, well-appointed, with friendly, warm staff that made our stay feel special. We greatly enjoyed the quality of the room, the special touches like complimentary drinks from the in-room fridge, and some sweets upon our arrival. The restaurant was excellent with very high quality, locally-inspired cuisine. The bathroom in our suite was super-well appointed with a large shower with rainhead, a cozy tub with wonderfully-smelling bath gel, a double sink, privacy door and towel warmer that through off some great heat.We stayed in the shoulder season (late October) which made for a much quieter experience than we might have had during high season; that was perfect for us as it meant we could wander the village without feeling like it was crammed or over-run. Plus, we had the close attention of the staff given the number of guests was minimal. We look forward to the next time we can visit this wonderful property and stay in this charming village.

    I booked this hotel for a business trip to Nice. Unfortunately, I realized I had booked the wrong hotel and needed to be in another similarly named hotel in Nice (which was considerably cheaper and very good). As soon as I realized I had booked the wrong hotel I called. The staff were unhelpful and said they would charge me for the WHOLE STAY - 3 NIGHTS! which amounted to nearly $2000! I understand mistakes happen and plans change but PLEASE be sure you will not have to cancel or change your reservation before 7 days as this hotel will fleece you for the whole stay regardless!
