This charming hotel is located in the heart of Nice, on a very quiet street, just 500 m from the beach. It is 400 m from Place Massena (main square of Nice), 700 m from the old town and 2 km from Acropolis Congress Centre. Guests will find restaurants, bars, shops, the tourist centre and Promenade des Anglais in the vicinity of the hotel. The Russian cathedral is around 1 km away and the Chagall and Matisse Museum is around 2 km away. Côte d'Azur Airport is located approximately 7 km from the hotel.

The hotel was built in 1800. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out.     What a fabulous wee hotel! Sebastian on the front desk was amazing with recommendations for day trips and restaurants which were all fabulous! He even helped us with our train bookings ! Above and beyond, we love it! Super clean hotel and a lovely breakfast too! Ohh and the location is amazing too!

    Cozy, well-functioning, friendly hotel in the middle of Nice. I stayed 10 days with friends and also by myself in the Hotel les Cigales. Hotel is located near the sea, near promenade, city centre and surrounded by nice restaurants, cafes, bakeries, cultural activities and in the middle of pleasant quiet neighbourhood. Personnel was super friendly all the time and responded always nicely to any wishes. Breakfast is served every morning for three hours and it was a proper nutritious breakfast with a lot of items to choose from. Each room has also a kettle and possibility to enjoy teas and coffees throughout the stay. There is also a minibar fridge and a hair dryer in each room. The view from some of the rooms is very limited and the soundproofing in the hotel is not the best one, but everything else worked out really well. Rooms and the bathrooms were spacious and they were cleaned every day. It was also possible to store your bicycle to a safe place within the hotel. I would definitely like to stay also in the future in this cozy little hotel.

    Watch Your Head!

    The staff were friendly and helpful, but the room on the top floor was not the best. The ceiling slopes and is quite shallow above one half of the bed. I was careful enough for most days but on the last morning I whacked my head and it knocked me back onto the bed. If you're staying here, try to avoid a room on the top floor.The elevator was out of order during our stay and there didn't appear to be any efforts to get it fixed. The staff did help us with luggage up the stairs on our arrival, but no elevator was super inconvenient. Breakfast was comparable to most and nothing special.The location was good and we could walk to most places.

    We Hated This Place. Here’s Why…

    For the life of me, I cannot understand how this hotel received so many good ratings. I’ll give you that it was clean enough, sort of well-located and the staff was friendly—when you could find them. Given the reviews stating how small the rooms were, we booked a superior double with the understanding it would be a larger room. Well, the floor area of the room was large but one literally could not stand up in half the room because of the sloped ceilings. Heads were bumped and headaches ensued. The bathroom had no place to put toiletries, no ventilation (ugh!) and threadbare towels. The room was dark and dingy. The windows were 7 feet off the ground and one was unable to see out. The elevator was broken for the entire length of our stay, supposedly because of a part on order. This required a trek up the stairs to the 3rd floor. While the exercise was good, that wasn’t the deal. Frankly, this place was pricey, depressing and we hated our stay there.

    Our room had unfortunately, no real window, just a porthole way up, so no view and could not really open, Completely different than on the pictures. Air con too loud, so very hot. Very unpleasant talk with manager unwilling to find an acceptable solution. Worst stay in France out of two nice weeks. And for this very expensive
