  Bad service and worst AC

  The whole experience was ruined. We had booked a balcony hotel, ofc paid extra, because my wife is pregnant and would have liked more space to breathe but the AC in that room wouldn't work when we checked in. They moved us to another room and still the same story. This was better than the balcony room but still hot. We complained once and the lady at the reception just said all the rooms are like that.Then it became much worse and we asked the reception again and then only they sent a technician who said yeah this one has problem. He fixed it and reduced the temperature but few hours later the same problem. On top of that, cant call the reception from the room because it isnt working. For anyone looking into staying here, I would skip.Location is good but not worth these hassle.   Hotel was fine. Clean and functional. Great area, close to everything. Some staff were lovely with exception of a couple. One in particular was unhelpful and quite unpleasant. Long ponytail, unsmiling. Also if organizing for a taxi to train station, specify you want a taxi. This particular women ordered us a private driver who charged a ridiculous amount of money for the ten minute drive. He had no meter and ripped us off!! Hotel should look into these drivers and staff should not call them. Next time we will use BOLT!!!

  Stayed for 3 nights with my mum. We arrived super early and were able to leave our luggage and were directed to a bathroom where we could change and refresh.Came back later to check in which was super quick. Room was on the 3rd floor. It was spotless so we were really pleased. The room was well equipped with everything you would need - plenty of storage, fridge, safe (free), strong wifi. Loved the refillable water bottles and glasses although our cleaner took our glasses one day and didn't return them. There was no issue however as they have plenty of glasses you can take by the water refill machine. Bed is super comfortable, one of the best I have slept in. We had no issues with noise - yes you hear some traffic beeps of a morning but nothing excessive and we were on the 3rd floor. Location is fantastic - a few minutes to the promenade, the tram line and plenty of great places to eat, drink etc. All staff we came into contact with were great. If you pushed for me any constructive feedback - the paint job in the bathroom could be tidied up which is minor to say the least Would highly recommend staying here if you get the opportunity, Thank you for a lovely stay!   Time for a refurbishment

  Once I walked into our room I was surprised at how highly rated the reviews were. I can only assume that is because of the staffGood points were:Staff - the staff were all friendly and helpfulBalcony - it was nice to have a balcony with our roomRooftop - the rooftop terrace was a very pleasant place to have a drink and relaxBad points:For breakfast there was fruit juice but no grapefruit juice. There were scrambled eggs and boiled eggs but no opportunity to have fried or poached eggs. Mushrooms were not available.The room was small and quite tired - definitely in need of refurbishment. There was no mirror in the room which was not great for my wife drying her hair. There were only 3 sockets and no USB sockets. The aircon was not working. I mentioned this but was told it was too early in the season. It was plenty hot in the room and we had to sleep with the window open. However, that lets the mosquitos in.The bathroom had a good shower but had no glasses, no face cloths and no individual toiletries.There isn't an actual bar. You can order drinks at reception and take them to the rooftop terrace but that terrace is crying out for a bar. The bin on the terrace was not emptied and some of the rubbish had spilled out to be blown about by the wind. Tables were not cleared either.
