Most Favourite Stay on the Côte d’Azur

    rating18 Oct 2025

This was my favourite among the three hotels we stayed at along the Côte d’Azur. The reception staff were warm and welcoming, setting the tone for a relaxing stay. While there’s no private beach, the public one is literally steps away — and the coastal view is impeccable. Morning runs along the shoreline were just perfect. Our room was modern, spacious, and stylish. There are also plenty of fantastic restaurants within walking distance, so dining out was never a problem. The breakfast spread was delicious, and the parking felt safe and secure. The only disappointment was that we forgot my husband’s Garmin charger in the room, and it couldn’t be located afterward. It would have been great if it had been reported to lost and found, as we were certain we left it there.

A good time in Côte d’Azur

    rating20 Aug 2025

I was really satisfied with my stay here. I was only here for one night because I needed to fly home early to work but my family stayed for two nights. I liked the rooms, they were nice and had everything necessary, the only thing was that we had 3 rooms booked, they were all in the same room category. But mine and my sister’s room didn’t have the kitchen part with a kettle and the tea and coffee. This was something I thought was a bit weird because we all had the same room, this didn’t affect me tho but I was just confused. The pool area was alright I didn’t swim during my time there but I was using the sun chairs. We tried the restaurant but only order drinks so I can’t say how the food was there. The breakfast in the morning was good, it wasn’t so much people there when we arrived early in the morning. The beach was also good, I don’t enjoy swimming in the sea and the rocks wasn’t so nice but yea, it was really nice view, especially in the evening. I had a good time here and I would come back another time for a longer visit if I had the opportunity! Best regards from Elsa in Sweden 💪

    rating23 Oct 2024

This is to describe our experience in the restaurant: BAD !!! went there to celebrate with the friends to discover a new dinner menu and a very modest service!! nothing to chose from bad overcooked pasta and terrible "veloute".big disappointment and a shame to run such a restaurant in a newly refurbished hotel

Not this hotel - definitely not

    rating29 Sept 2024

My husband and I went for a long weekend. Price-quality balance is not existent. That is not a 4 star hotel. The (we had a Privilege room) room was basic so small 2 people struggle with it. If that is how a Privilege room looks like I wonder how much worst another room is there. No courtesy, no sound insulation (you could hear next door having intercourse). Despite there being a "do not disturb" on the door they entered our room twice Once whist we were sleeping and once when we were away. They excuse was that "wind" too it away. If such problem exists perhaps a heavier hanger may be ideal. Whilst we were away the cleaner decided that how we arranged OUR items in the room is not right so she took upon herself to do it how SHE though we should have OUR belongings in the room. When I complained I was told by a person who claimed to be accommodation manager "what would you like me to do". Well I was there to present a problem and HIS job (not mine) is to come with a solution. In the evening in the bar (upstairs - their pride and joy) was so unfriendly and so unaccommodating. Welcome drinks for members are per tier but for this allegedly 4 star hotel does not matter. NEVER AGAIN Gilbert RESTANIO, Service clients/Réception at Mercure Villeneuve Loubet Plage, responded to this review Dear Madam,We regret to see that you did not enjoy your stay in our hotel.First of all, we would like to apologize for the incident you mentioned. Unfortunately, it seems to have annihilated all subjectivity in your judgment of our establishment and its staff. On this particularly windy day, as one might imagine at the seaside, the “do not disturb” sign actually fell off the door, and we couldn’t find it again. Our maid (who has worked with us for 10 years) came around 11 a.m. and not having noticed or had any contraindication to cleaning it, she entered to carry out her meticulous, daily work and to put your room in order. When she came in, no one was there and you surprised her by walking in doing her work. The rest of the story is quite unrealistic. You began to literally yell at her, calling her a thief, bordering on insulting and intolerable without any conclusive evidence allowing you to do so.Our housekeeper has worked in this hotel for many years, she has exemplary behavior and her integrity has never been called into question. She tried to apologize to no avail. Our manager intervened and before he even spoke, you reserved the same fate for him. You also yelled at him without any words being able to be said.Despite numerous apologies and attempts to explain the situation, after more than 10 minutes of continuous yelling, in monologue, in the corridors, and lobby of the hotel, our management staff had to warn you, because you were disturbing the peace of other customers, which you did not appreciate.Today we see that we are suffering the slander of your frustration. We have also noted that you regularly encounter conflicts in different establishments, which leaves us perplexed as to your judgment and the reality of the situation. Finally, when you indicate the other elements, note that in addition to being part of a serious and world-renowned hotel chain, we are constantly monitored by different organizations, that we are labeled “Green Key” and have received numerous distinctions . Fortunately, the hundreds of comments and ratings from our customers definitively attest to the quality of our services and our staff.Your intransigence and anger despite our repeated apologies and attempts at dialogue is totally disproportionate to the situation and we regret it.We have never encountered such a situation from our visitors and it is regrettable that you have not managed to regain your calm.We advise you for your next stays to specify when you arrive at the reception of a hotel that you do not want cleaning service. We wish you excellent continuation.

    Avoid this hotel

    rating14 Jun 2024

We booked a superior room with terrace and sea view. We were very disappointed that this was located in the older of the buildings. As for the sea view, well we could see the sea, but only over the terrace on the newer buidilng, which is currently a building site (photo attached). We wanted to eat dinner in the restaurant, but it was closed. No reason or apolgy was given. We had to walk to a nearby restaurant, which is not what we wanted to do. The advertised room service didn't exist either. We didn't take breakfast, partly as it was served in very dark and pokey space. A coffee on our balcony would have nice, but the Nespresso machine was broken. So s dreadful experience. Certainly not worth 250 Euro
