    Give this one a miss.

Don't be fooled by the photographs of the rooms. The one in which we stayed was nothing like this. It clearly had not been painted for years...YEARS. Half a blue wall, half white. Peeling paint everywhere. We had to shuffle sideways to get around the bottom of the bed (we ended up having to rearrange the furniture). At least the carpet was clean and the beds were comfy. The noise from the room next door was terrible. We heard snoring all night long, then loud talking on the mobile 'phone the next morning. We were also awoken by the construction works going on at the back of the hotel. The bathroom was tiny. I had to sit on the loo sideways because my knees got squished against the door. The bath is not a full-size bath. The shower worked fine and the water was hot, though. The walk in to town was about 15 mins or so. Most of the reception staff was very friendly, apart from one man who clearly doesn't like to communicate with guests.

    Convenient Location, Average Experience Overall

    rating20 Apr 2026

I recently stayed at Hôtel Relais Acropolis and overall the experience was fairly average, with a few notable downsides. The room itself was okay—slightly on the smaller side, but still livable for a short stay. One thing that stood out immediately was the lack of a main ceiling light. The room relied entirely on lamps, which made it feel quite dim, even with the window and curtain open, and not particularly practical. The bathroom setup was also a bit frustrating. There was no proper plug for the bathtub, just a large suction cover, which felt like a cheap workaround. On top of that, only basic shower gel was provided, no shampoo or even a 2-in-1 option. These are small touches, but they make a difference and wouldn’t cost much for the hotel to improve. One of the biggest issues was the air conditioning. Despite having it set to the coldest setting for the entire 7-day stay, it didn’t seem to work properly at all. We ended up having to keep the window open most of the time, which wasn’t ideal. There’s also no kettle or in-room drink-making facilities. The only option is a machine in the breakfast area, which is free during breakfast hours but requires payment after 10:30am. It feels a bit like an unnecessary extra charge. The breakfast itself was quite limited, small croissants, no meats, and having to boil your own eggs etc. If it hadn’t been included in the stay, it wouldn’t feel worth paying extra for.On the positive side, the staff were friendly and helpful throughout, which did make the stay more pleasant. The location is also very convenient, with easy access to tram and bus stops, a supermarket, and the train station nearby. However, it is worth noting that the area can be quite noisy in the mornings due to it being such a busy area, obviously not a hotel issue but something worth mentioning.Overall, it’s a decent budget option in a good location, but there are several areas where the hotel could improve to offer better value and comfort

    Filthy. Uninhabitable

    rating27 Aug 2025

We complained that there was no bathplug (my wife enjoys bathing) or shower curtain, resulting in the bathroom floor being slippery. There was a stain on the carpet. We were not shown an alternative room. I asked for a quiet room, and we were told that 'all rooms are quiet'. We were then woken by the heavy traffic outside at night. The room was dirty, with poor decor. I don't think I would force a condemned prisoner or a starving homeless person to stay in this room. Disgusting,

A very pleasant stay in Nice

    rating05 Nov 2024

Not far from the Old Town, this hotel offers fairly basic accommodation considering it is a 3 star. The staff are anxious to please and most helpful. The room is rather small. Very comfortable bed. The bath is not for tall people. No coffee making facility in the room so had to use the coffee machine in the restaurant . There was a charge for this. So no complimentary hot drinks. Disappointing. The breakfast was reasonable value for money but not very exciting. It is a small hotel so it is understandable that a large choice isn't provided. The rooms were cleaned regularly with new bedding given daily. There is no bar . Seemed good value for money.
