  The hotel was under my expectations , a huge difference from what was shown at the hotel booking and reality .Rooms are very small ,noisy from outside, no fridge .no side lamps .TV has no sound although complained several times .The only good thing is the reception staff is very friendly .The hotel location is great, nearby 2 metro stations .

  We visited Paris for four days in September just after the Olympics. For a short stay, the Absolute Hotel looked okay and it more or less was. The staff on duty were very polite and helpful. The location is not bad: the Place de la Republique is nearby and you can get a train into the centre from there.For the room itself... for three adults it was on the small side. We had three beds side by side and it felt cramped. Not advisable for a longer stay. The photos on booking.com do not look much like the place, there's only a bit of graffiti and no pictures of singers on the walls of our room. Depending on your aesthetic preference, this might not be a bad thing.

  Bedbugs

  Well- I got bit by bedbugs. The room looked fine, though the safe didn't work and our room had a chunk missing from the door implying it had been robbed in the past; but after staying Thursday-Monday in room 42, we are covered in bites. It's super frustrating for a hotel to not clean enough to have this be an issue on a vacation you paid money for.

  Scruffy, budget hostel vibe at boutique hotel prices

  As an earlier review says this is NOT A BOUTIQUE CONCEPT HOTEL- it is a pretty scruffy hotel with quite depressing rooms and no ‘urban decor’ . the 2 rooms I saw (one me & friend stayed in) were plain , poorly furnished and with peeling pleather cushions on the bed. There are no tea and coffee facilities in the room- the staircase was really quite grim with a filthy carpet & the safe was broken in one room and inaccessible in the other. This is all fine if you’re paying budget prices! I booked & paid for 2 nights but we moved after the first to a MUCH much nicer ( & cheaper!) place nearby. On the plus side the location was good, the bed was comfortable, the staff friendly and breakfast was great at the bistro next door - but this place really shouldn’t be charging more than €80 in its current state.

  Great for a short stays

  Great for short stays.Stayed for 3 nights at the start of spetember. Room was basic, 3 beds, table, 2 chairs, tv, and 2 bedside tables. Also had a fan which was great during the warm nights. The staircase up has lots of character, a contrast to the plain white walls of the room (posters on the door but no art/ decoration in the actual room).Bathroom was clean and spacious shower. Clean towels everyday, can't complain. Area was great, not too touristy so lots of small shops and cafes. Close to many metros and only 30/40 min walk to the centre. Lost 1 star as our key to the door stopped working 3 times over the stay. It was a quick fix but inconvenient after a long day exploring. Also no lock on bathroom door.
