Comfortable but worn hotel with ineffective staff

    rating22 May 2025

I stayed in the Adagio for 11 nights during a recent work trip. Having stayed in this brand in a number of other cities, my reflections are on how this hotel compares to other Adagios in the UK, France and Belgium, as well as how it compares to a long-stay property in general.POSITIVESOne bedroom apartment very spacious with lovely balcony overlooking a quiet garden. Comfy sofa and good quality kitchen. There is no aircon, but the two floor fans kept a nice breeze moving along. The location is fantastic - this is NOT a tourist area, but for tourists the 11 metro is just five minutes’ walk and has direct connections to the centre within 30 minutes. For the rest of us, the 19e is a great part of town, with lovely restaurants and neighborhood bars, cafes, and bakeries. The Auchan supermarket is just diagonal from the hotel and has an incredibly wide selection. NEGATIVESEven though there appears to have been a recent refurb, the interior feels pretty rundown. Corridors smelled poorly, chipped paint everywhere, and plumbing in the apartment smelled ghastly due to relatively open wall just behind the commode. Although the staff were kind, they were quite ineffective. On a few simple requests (move my cleaning day, help with a broken washing machine), they had to be asked MULTIPLE times to do anything. This was true for at least 4 different colleagues at the reception. TV was iffy and fridge in my first room (I was quickly switched) didn’t work at all - so check before you unpack! Bedding was poor and didn’t stay on the mattresses (wrong size?). Shower leaked and dishwasher drawers missing some of its wheels to open easily. All in all, I had a comfortable stay and love this part of Paris, but the low cost of the hotel would be about the only reason to stay here again, rather than somewhere else nearby.

Far from city center. Dated rooms.

    rating25 Dec 2024

This accomodation's location is far from the city center. We booked the 1-Bedroom Apartment that comes with 1 double bed and 2 single sofa beds. Room furnishings were a bit dated but the floor space is of good size. The kitchen was well furnished with appliances. The dining table was a place we sat around most of the time.Room cleaning cost EUR 16 per day. That was way too expensive. Without that service, the toiletries and coffee satchets were not replenished at all throughout our stay. Guests had to bring their pile-up rubbish to the garbage room which stank of rotten food smell at level 1. This was my first time staying at an Adagio aparthotel. Hope it's not like this for other Adagio aparthotels. The nearby Auchen supermarket was superb with a huge range of products at better prices than Carrefour. We just found out about this supermarket! The staff at the aparthotel told us about this supermarket when we checked in but we didn't patronise it so far... Instead, we have been stocking up our groceries from Carrefour City in various parts of Paris City.We are now whiling away our time at the aparthotel's games room area playing the free table soccer while waiting to leave for the metro to Paris Gare Du Nord to go to another EU country.

    Wonderful Location

    rating24 Sept 2024

We loved the slightly out of Central Paris but still near location. Close to several metro stations, numerous shops and the Parc des Buttes Chaumont, the hotel is in the middle of a residential pedestrian street. A street closed to motor traffic at both ends and although the Hotel is opposite a primary school it's super quiet at night. While it's difficult to do in a hotel with a high occupancy rate, the hotel would benefit from inspecting appliances etc on a regular basis as we had an issue with a fridge that needed repair or replacement. However Nedra on Reception staff was super professional and helpful in solving the problem. We ended up in an apartment on the ground floor and it felt safe to have a window open at night while we slept. Oh and finally like all the best hotels this one has a cat who sometimes makes an appearance in the evening to help the night receptionist. Horrible experience - Stolen wallet

    rating22 Feb 2024

My wallet was taken at the breakfast cafe when an individual, not registered as a hotel guest, entered the lobby. They paid for breakfast at the reservation desk, proceeded to the breakfast area, and stole my wallet. Seeking immediate assistance from the hotel staff, I explained that my wallet had been stolen just two minutes prior, but they were exceedingly impolite and uncooperative, refusing to check the security cameras. I reported the theft to the police and initiated an insurance claim. It was only at this point that the hotel reviewed the surveillance footage, confirming the theft. They had the opportunity to assist me in the moment, potentially catching the thief, but they declined. Their response was that they couldn't take any preventative measures, stating such incidents were common in the hotel. Despite earlier assurances to help with the insurance process, they failed to respond to any of my emails. While I acknowledge that Paris may have its risks, the situation was significantly horrible, mainly because of the hotel's indifferent attitude of 'don't know, don't care.' Stéphane NJAPOUM, Owner at Aparthotel Adagio Paris Buttes Chaumont, responded to this review Dear guest, unfortunately you have chosen the wrong hotel, can you please cancel your review and contact the right hotel. We did not have any request regarding a stolen wallet.Thank you for you understanding.Best regrads,Stéphane

Great place for a Paris family base

    rating17 Oct 2023

Lovely quiet location and the beautiful park Buttes Chaumont is only a stones throw away, as it the Botzaris metro. Stayed a few days with my 2 teenage kids and this was a lovely place to explore from. Great supermarket at the end of the road and lots of lovely bakeries nearby so we made good use of the kitchen. There’s also loads of nice brasseries a short walk away. Apartment was lovely and clean and seemed to have been redecorated recently and has a nice balcony too. Thoroughly recommend
