  Good hotel let down by poor back office

  Hotel was great, however the billing process was absolutely appalling.I stayed in June, it took them until September to bill me. I booked the stay through my companies travel portal hence I was not concerned that I had not been charged. They then charged me twice.It took 15+ emails and 10+ phone calls to arrange a refund. Numerous emails where I got no reply or a promised call back. Having to explain the situation over and over again to each person who picked up my call.I am told it should be 7-10 days until the refund is processed, however I am still nervous. Absolutely no explanation of why it took 3 months to charge me.   Great find, centrally located and well priced

  I was looking for a centrally located hotel in the Bonvoy chain that was well priced for a business visit. I was very happy at the Atala. Contrary to the review below, they immediately acknowledged my Titanium status and breakfast was free. The windows in my room opened wide and overlooked a garden courtyard. Breakfast was varied and served in the quiet lobby, although I took mine to the courtyard. My room was clean and quiet. The hotel front desk is staffed 24/7. The hotel is low key and well priced. Families looking for something simple with a nice breakfast would also be happy here. Great find!

  This very well-located hotel in Paris's 8th is a surprisingly tranquil place to rest your head, even though it's just steps away from the bustling and touristy Champs Elysees. It's true as others say that the free coffee and water are nice, but we're talking about free coffee and water -- a perk worth about 25 euros a day max, and that's being generous. Even though I'm Bonvoy Titanium, my room came with no loyalty benefits -- no room upgrade, no free breakfast, no points option. My room was not cheap -- an average of 500 euros per night -- and it was pretty much as soulless as a hotel room can be, with nothing on the walls, fake wood finishes, all hard surfaces, a tiny desk that barely accommodated my laptop because it had to share space with the coffee maker, kettle, and coffee mugs (no glasses, by the way). The "rain shower" was a bit of a joke, with bad pressure and sprays of water that seemed to go every which way but down. The hotel's gym is not really adequate if you want a complete workout. But there are definite pluses: the room was very quiet, unexpectedly so, and the staff were extremely friendly and kind. Not sure if this is worth a second try.   Amazing location just minutes from Champs-Élysées, with free coffee, a lovely garden, and great value for the 8th arrond

  The location is perfect—you’re right in the heart of Paris, just a 3-minute walk from the Champs-Élysées. You have a balcony and access to a beautiful garden, along with a decent internet connection. Coffee and water are complimentary. There’s a coffee machine in your room with a few free coffee capsules, and two bottles of water that you can refill at the lobby.Additionally, there’s a coffee machine in the lobby where you can grab a cappuccino, coffee, or espresso anytime you like (free of charge and fully automated).For the service and location, this is the best value you can find in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.Highly recommend it for couples.   Great location🎉!!! But a so-so room🙁

  The all-important first impression of 'Atala by Sonder' was excellent. The heavy glass-and-wrought-iron front doors magically swing open as soon as you touch the handle. Slick! The main lobby is very stylish: all polished marble, chic lighting, and some elegant Apple-themed art by a local artisan. There's a large and very comfortable breakfast room off the main lobby, with a decent bkfst buffet available (extra cost). If the weather's nice, you can eat on an outside patio in the courtyard.However, it looks like the Sonder's reno budget ran out before they updated the room we were assigned. It looked nothing like the photos on their website. The furniture was tired and rundown, with various chips and stains on some of the pieces. Long overdue for replacement. The in-room safe was the tiniest I've ever seen - it wouldn't hold an iPad, much less a laptop. However, the bathroom was bright and clean. Our room had both a tub and a shower stall (with a deluxe rainshower fixture and hand shower).While the room was a disappointment, the location is superb, just a block off the Champs-Élyseés. There's a Metro stop (Line 1, George V station) right at the corner in front of the Apple Store, so it's easy to get to all the sights and sites in Paris.The next time we visit Paris, I'd definitely consider the Atala based on the location. But before dragging luggage up to the assigned room, I'd first check it out to be sure it lives up to what's advertised on the website.Breakfast tip - every morning we ate at the Washington Poste, a small café/bar that's a half-block away on Rue Washington. They have excellent croissants, espresso, juice, eggs and the like.
