    A great stay.

    rating10 Apr 2026

I was puzzled to read reviews which criticised the staff, as I found every one of them exceptional in my recent 9 night stay. On arrival, I had a lovely welcome from Anna, and Sam and his colleagues were most helpful with regard to my walking aid.The room (24) was small, but rooms in Paris are small, but it was spotlessly clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Kettle, tea and coffee were provided, though coffee and drinks were available in reception. Location was very good, next to Gare St Lazare with excellent links to public transport, and walking distance to les Grand Magazins.I would recommend it.

very rude management and astonishingly bad customer service

    rating18 Aug 2025

very rude management and astonishingly bad customer service. we had to rebook due to visa reasons, tried to negotiate with the hotel on terms, convinced booking.com to waver their fees to the hotel, but the hotel manager just refused to talk samir hamidi, Directeur général at Austin's Saint Lazare Hotel, responded to this review We dispute this review, which does not reflect the reality of the situation. Your reservation was made through BOOKING.COM with cancellation policies clearly stated upon confirmation. Three days before arrival, these policies apply automatically and cannot be changed. You had plenty of time to cancel before the deadline, and cancellation insurance offered by BOOKING.COM could have covered you.We understand your disappointment, but we cannot be held responsible for the conditions accepted when booking. It is also unfair to leave a review of our property without having stayed there.

    The worst customer service possible!

    rating18 Aug 2025

We booked this hotel for August, but had an unexpected change of plans (due to no fault of our own) and couldn’t travel on the reserved dates. When we tried to negotiate—either to cancel or at least pay for just one night—we were met with the most unhelpful staff imaginable, who were rude not only to us but also to the Booking.com representatives, and who blatantly showed they didn’t care at all. Never in my life have I left such a terrible review, but I feel compelled to warn others: avoid this place. The staff are inflexible, inconsiderate, and devoid of basic human decency - they won't help you. samir hamidi, Directeur général at Austin's Saint Lazare Hotel, responded to this review We dispute this review, which does not reflect the reality of the situation. Convient and comfortable stay

    rating18 Jun 2024

This hotel is advertised as a 3 star hotel and I would rate as slightly above. Staff friendly and helpful. While the rooms are small it was adequate for our needs, however the shower is very small if you are a big guy like me. Great continental breakfast with lots of pastries to choose from. The location of this hotel is its big plus, 20 metres from the Gare St Lazare great if travelling to Normandy plus multiple metro connections, so its convenient for travel anywhere. Sleep not disturbed by station noise as room well soundproofed. Would stay again.

    HORRIBLE.

    rating12 Jun 2024

HORRIBLE. We arrived to this tiny "hotel?" with a lobby that can barely fit two people in it. Guests were coming down the miniature set of winding stairs saying the elevator did not work. We were waiting to check in and upon hearing this asked if we could cancel our reservation- I told them that my friend could not walk up those stairs with a suitcase with a bad leg and they refused!!. they said someone was working on it! Because we had paid in full, they said "too bad- you paid in full and we will not refund your money". We did not stay there as it was an unsafe setting with no working elevator and a tiny ( 36" max) winding stair case that we could not have even fit our suitcase in to walk upstairs flights- ridiculous. It smelled and was dirty and would never recommend staying at a place with such rude management. We were appalled. samir hamidi, Directeur général at Austin's Saint Lazare Hotel, responded to this review We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by the temporary shutdown of our elevator for maintenance. Safety being our priority, it was essential to carry out this work. Upon your arrival, we informed you that the elevator would be back in service at the end of the afternoon and we offered to take your luggage up to your room, an offer which you refused.Like many hotels located in the center of Paris, it is modest in size. This is part of the charm of the city where every space is optimized. But our hotel is neither dirty nor dangerous; the well-being and safety of our customers are our priorities. The ratings and numerous very positive reviews on Tripadvisor, Expedia, Booking and other platforms bear witness to this. The manager
