  Passable but unbearable heat in rooms

  Last minute booking for a trip to Paris with my daughter. Positives include quiet location, proximity to Glacière metro station and breakfast being included. However, our issue was with the heat in the room. Opening the window (which was in fact a door) provided no relief in the very small room. I have just read reviews which mention complimentary fans in each room - we didn't have one and at no point was it suggested. Given the heat in summer, these should be standard. We had to make do with cold flannels and our own mini portable fans. As a result, we dreaded returning to the hotel in the evenings and stayed out as long as it was safe.   I had a decent stay here and the price was definitely right (4 nights for $600 all in). For some reason, I thought they had air conditioning but it was pretty uncomfortable esp. after walking with my suitcase from the metro station. Out of the three hotels during my time in France, their fan was the least effective. The shower head wasn't staying in place and they were quick to send someone up to fix it. The area isn't the most exciting but there are a few decent bars and eateries and it's a short walk to other parts of town and a couple metro stops are close by. La Marijan down the street had nice employees and the Irish bar just across the main drag was good. Breakfast was okay, high marks for baked goods, cooked items only ok and a very bad layout when it gets crowded. Fine overall.   hotel is not for those who perspires easily and can’t stand the hot weather!

  I chanced upon this hotel via booking.com when I decided to move to south of Paris to keep a lid on hotel costs and I booked a single room for 2 nights and a double room on the 3rd night rom 17-20 June 2025. The Afro lady at the reception as well as the other Afro one who works at the kitchen for breakfast are polite and helpful and they brought smiles to my face! The rooms are clean and breakfast is great! There is no air conditioner in the hotel. It did not help that the window in the single room could only be opened up to 20 degrees maximum due to syringe being put in place so no air could flow into the room in the hot weather of 33 degrees!!! A tiny fan was provided but it did not provide enough relief. I had to cool myself down with Coke and beer. The window in the double room could be opened up to 35 degrees and it’s a top to bottom window unlike the half size window in the single room. I was considering staying for a few more days but decided against it due to the hot weather so I will be moving to another hotel with AC. Though I like the quiet neighbourhood I find the location not too convenient as it’s still some distance to touristy sights. I will only come back to this hotel should I come in Spring or Autumn but not in Summer.
