    Safety hazard in the lobby and management’s refusal to resolve the incident — 4* hotel

    I stayed here with my family in May 2026. An extremely negative experience.On 26 May at around 22:00, in the hotel lobby, my small dog and I were attacked by a large, aggressive dog with no muzzle. To my knowledge, its owner was not a hotel guest — she was in the lobby as an acquaintance of the night receptionist, who had let her in with the animal. The dog was so aggressive that its owner and the receptionist could only pull it off together and with great difficulty. Only my immediate reaction — grabbing and shielding my pet with my body — prevented serious injury to my small dog. My clothing was torn during the attack, and both my dog and I were severely shaken.The same day, I notified management in writing and asked that the CCTV footage be preserved. Management replied but refused any compensation for the damaged clothing or the ruined stay, and referred me to the police. No refund, no discount, and no resolution was offered.The room itself struck me as unreasonably cramped for a 4* category, and breakfast is not included.In short: the hotel failed to ensure the basic safety of its guests in its own lobby and did not take responsibility for what happened. Furthermore, the owner (or person in control of an animal at the time of an incident) is legally responsible for any damage caused by that animal, regardless of intent. As such, the hotel cannot be held liable for the actions of the dog involved.Accordingly, the appropriate course of action would have been to seek compensation directly from the dog's owner, rather than from the hotel. Instead, you requested compensation to us in the form of €200 for the replacement of your T-shirt and a complimentary night's stay. I explained the procedures available in France, should you have wished to pursue the matter formally, which is filing a report with the police.When you requested access to the CCTV footage, I informed you that such recordings can only be accessed by authorized authorities. You suggested that the hotel might delete the footage, which I responded that the hotel fully cooperates with the police and other competent authorities whenever requested as part of an official investigation.We sincerely regret that this unusual incident negatively affected your stay with us.     Arrived at this hotel from Montparnasse (by Metro) the booking in time was either 3 as viewed by the app (we don't do apps) or 2 by the website or who ever is on reception - at a loss.The room was clean and tidy and a tag on the small size but the shower in the bathroom is something else - make sure you move your towel before turn the shower on (the one that sits on the ceiling) because if you get it wrong the towel will get soaked.Not sure who thought the room had to be tiled as looks like your living in a WC; as the same tiles are used in many a English toilet or at Preston Bus Station.We didn't eat in the hotel as there are numerous restaurants near by.The English tv selection as in most hotels in Paris is little more than BBC World Service. Anyway, don't worry to much about that (our 80,000 readers) your in Paris - get out and about.The Eiffel Tower is only 15 minutes by the Metro and there's a Metro station at the bottom of the street, we walked back and it took less than an hour and there are numerous interesting sites nearby.The one night stay was enough in a nice hotel in a fair room with fair staff.Bon journeyPS We don't pass comment on sleep quality as you either have a good night sleep or you don't - simple really.

    The hotel was in a great location to get to everything as it was close to the metro. The service was good and the front desk was attentive. Overall it is a good hotel and highly recommended

    The service was top and the colleagues at the reception too. They gavewn us very good tips for restaurants around the district of the hotel.

    Perfect hotel if you're looking for a central location. At walking distance (10 minutes) from Gare du Nord. 15 minute walk from Pigalle, Palais Garnier (and Galeries Lafayette) and the Canal Saint-Martin. Room is a bit noisy. You can sometimes hear housekeeping and other hotel guests moving around, likely due to the building being a bit dated. Definitely coming back here!
