  Very convenient hotel in a great location

  Fantastic location. Walking distance from Gare Montparnasse and metro stations. Close to many touristics places, restaurants and stores. Very attentive service. Room small but compfortable. Elevator from the basement (in dome small hotels un Paris there is not this option). Quiet from noise coming from the street but walls are thin so you can hear conversations from other rooms and doors open and closing. Wifi with a QR so I could only use it for my Iphone I could no used with my computer.

  Incredible Paris Price Hikes

  I have stayed in this hotel several times in the past 20 years because of its convenient location near the Gare Montparnasse. I joked that it should be called "l'Hôtel Sans Charme" because it's so basic. It always seemed a good value in the lively Edgar Quinet-Gaité neighborhood. On this visit the hotel was still adequate and clean; the staff was kind; and my husband and I were grateful for two very quiet nights in our 5th-floor room on the courtyard side. However, the final price for the truly tiny room, think walk-in closet size, was shocking: $250 per night with only one night's breakfast added (terrible coffee, good pastries). Perhaps this was the Olympic Games effect?

  Great situation in Paris

  The room we had was very clean and compact. The width is a double bed with 2 bedside tables so probably not ideal if you are on the large side.Lovely crisp clean sheets. Good selection for breakfast €10.Staff very friendly and English is spoken. Montparnasse is a very lively place with lots of bars and restaurants.I imagine that in the hot summer months it might be a bit noisy. We would definitely return.

  Should NOT be a 3 star hotel.

  The room was tiny even by Paris standards and could not handle two adults and two suitcases. It had very few amenities such as tissues, wash cloths, iron and other things standard in most hotels. The carpets were in need of a good cleaning and the whole hotel seemed tired and dated. The location was very convenient but our room faced the street so there was a lot of noise.

  Location is spot on - 5 mins from Gare de Montparnasse, and the Montparnasse centre. Also in the midst of what looks like an up and coming place for restaurants and bars. It was a 30 min walk to the Seine which was pleasant to do on a nice day, but there were also Metro stations nearby for when we didn't feel like walking. Check in was quick and easy, and the staff were friendly.The room itself was tiny. The bathroom was half the size of the room, but the shower area was so small they may as well have just turned it into a wet room. The wifi did not work most days so we just used roaming. The 'air-con' was just a fan which did not cool the room at all, however low I set it. The floor was dirty when we checked in and, although the room was serviced during our stay, remained dirty.It is a budget hotel but its location makes up for a lot.
