    I stayed for six nights at the Hotel Chabrol Opera and had a very pleasant experience. The room was spacious and clean. It's very comfortable, and the price is right. Unfortunately, there was some sort of security alert when I was there, and the police asked everyone to leave, but that was no fault of the hotel, nor was it particularly alarming or upsetting or anything. I suspect that the police were being ultra-cautious about something or other. The hotel has since been very good about chasing me up about a refund for the three further nights that I missed. I will certainly consider staying there again when I'm next in Paris. (It was a lot better than the hotel I then moved to which was just part of a big chain and cost a lot more money). The neighbourhood is very pleasant, too, with lots of cafes and restaurants and very convenient to the gare du nord.

    Avoid this hotel! Bedbugs!

    My wife and my two kids stayed at this hotel. In the middle of the night they woke up and discovered plenty of bedbugs in the room. Needless to say, we complained and demanded to be reimbursed. This far, the hotel has not even responded to our complaint. The hotel is a disgrace for France and french hotel business. Avoid.

    We stayed in this hotel for 3 days in a quadruple room (2 adults and 2 children). one bed was broken as per the attached photos and although I immediately reported the problem to the reception, no one came to fix it and for the entire stay I could not sleep in the bed (we had to sleep in 3 in a double bed). I was told that the hotel manager was not present on the weekend and although after my stay I wrote to the reception several times to ask for a partial refund, no one was able to help me. Scandalous attitude from the concierge, very unpleasant hotel with terrible customer service

    Terrible hotel, so basic and run down. I had a single room that was so small and could hardly get into the bathroom! No aircon and it was sweltering. There was a fan but it was even too hot for that. I left my phone charger behind and so called a couple of hours after I left. They told me the cleaner hadn’t found anything and said the next guests were in the room but had gone out. A little unbelievable when I called before check-in time. Very dishonest and annoying. Will not visit again. I do normally write reviews but I felt let down by this hotel.

    Avoid this hotel - bed bugs and terrible customer service

    During the night my wife noticed a bug in her bed and when she lifted up the pillow there were around 20 to 30 bugs of varying sizes from under 1mm to about 6 mm in length underneath. I went down to reception, spoke to the receptionist and showed him two of the bugs. He advised me that there were no vacant rooms in the hotel for us to move into. As it was then around 1:30 am, it was too late to look for another hotel. We had no choice but to stay in the room, where we discovered bugs in both of the other beds. We could not sleep in the beds so stayed awake all night often finding further bugs, which was a very unpleasant and distressing experience for us. We had to leave before the manager arrived, so I emailed them later in the day, but received no reply, not even an apology. I contacted Booking.com who agreed a full refund with the hotel, which, after 7 weeks, I am about to receive. I understand that Booking.com have raised an official complaint with this hotel.
