  Serious security concern

  I stayed at Citadines Opéra Paris during a recent business trip and had a very distressing experience.I stored approximately €800 in the in-room safety box, assuming it would be secure. Unfortunately, the money disappeared during my stay. There were no signs of forced entry, which raises serious concerns about how access to the safety box is managed.I immediately reported the issue to hotel management. While they were polite, I felt that my complaint was not taken seriously, and no clear explanation or accountability was provided.I also went to the local police station, where I was informed that incidents like this are not uncommon and that hotel safety boxes should not always be considered fully secure.Another concerning point is that the hotel appears to have very limited surveillance coverage. I was told there is only one camera, which does not monitor the corridor leading to guest rooms, making it difficult to verify movements or investigate incidents.I am sharing this experience so that other travelers are aware and take extra precautions with valuables. I strongly recommend avoiding leaving cash or important items in the room safe and considering alternative solutions.This situation significantly impacted my stay and my sense of security. As discussed during our in-person meetings at the residence, and through our several email exchanges, we carefully investigated all aspects of the situation.This included checking the access records of your room door as well as reviewing the available CCTV footage located at the elevator exit, which allows us to monitor movements towards your corridor. Our findings show that only the authorized staff members (housekeeper and supervisor) accessed your apartment during the scheduled housekeeping service, and that no other unidentified person was observed entering the corridor between the end of cleaning and your return. We also observed the arrival of the neighboring guests during that time frame.Additionally, the apartment's electronic lock records confirm entries limited to yourself and our staff. We also carefully inspected both the apartment door and the in-room safe, and no signs of forced entry were identified.Our safes operate with a personal code chosen by each guest and can only be opened either with this code or with a secured electronic override key, which is strictly controlled, stored in a management safe, and was not used at any time during your stay.We fully understand your concerns and regret that this situation has impacted your sense of security.   We enjoyed our stay in a spacious studio executive room. Our room was on the 5th floor and was separated into a two-floor living area. On the first floor we had a sitting area, kitchenette, and a half bathroom. On the second floor we had a bedroom and a full bathroom. We really appreciated having the extra half bathroom and liked having the extra space that this type of room offered. The only negative was that the second floor had slanted ceilings making the ceiling in the shower area a bit low. It wasn't an issue for us, but you may want to consider asking for a room on a different floor to avoid the slanted ceilings. Other positives: The front desk agents were very helpful. There is free coffee and tea in the lobby along with a water refill station. There are umbrellas available to borrow near the front door. The location is excellent. The Richelieu Drouot metro stop is less than a block away. There are plenty of restaurants and boulangeries in the area. We felt very safe in the area including walking at night. If we return to Paris we will stay here again.   It's an expensive hotel but worth it for a travel and relaxing trip.

  LocationIt's a good option for traveling to the Opera and Louve Museum, close to the Metro and RER. There are many restaurants. Convenience store nearbyWe stayed in a room for 3 people.The price is quite high compared to a room for 2 people.But the room is very large.There is 1 large bathroom, 1 toilet room, 1 bedroom, 1 living room with sofa bed, 1 kitchen with dining table. large refrigerator And there is also a washing machine in the room.Room cleanliness is good. Complete kitchen equipment that can be used for real useThe service staff is good and polite. Dress formally at all times.At the lobby, drinking water, coffee, and hot cocoa are available.If I go to Paris again, I want to go back here again.   New management has ruined this hotel

  I have been staying at this hotel for years and this year was a disappointment. Prices have doubled. Rooms are aging and no maintenance has been done in years. Cleaning is only done for extra payment so the rooms/apts are aging badly. The hotel is meant to be full and they decided to have the windows cleaned inside and outside, contractors enter your room without notice nor cleaning after themselves (shoes marks in the bath tub, moved bags around and didn’t placed them back)1 months with only 1 lift working and now it’s been 2 days 2 lifts broken, the only 1 dryer machine has been broken for over a month, they provide a nespresso machine but don’t give pods. They don’t help with bags, they don’t even open the sofa bed for you, everything you ask, the answer is NO. Direction is terrible and experience is terrible. The positive thing is the location. Despite the fact that the company has been working with us for 20 years and we know all the employees, they should not have left the room disturbed.We only refused to keep your suitcases between the two stays as we don't have a place to store luggage. However, the management has offered you an alternative solution.And finally, our accommodations are equipped with coffee machines and we offer a welcome tray with capsules and tea and coffee bags. This is a welcome tray, the customer buys his drink during the stay.We are sorry that we were not able to respond to your requests during your stay and hope that you will find a place that lives up to your expectations for your next stay in Paris.Kind regards.

  Cons - Stayed for one night only. Got the "Dior" suite. Rubbish!!! It's just a few empty boxes of Dior scattered around the room shelves. Nothing Dior about it.Style but no substance!Dated old furniture and interiors. The bathroom and toilets are separate, which is very very inconvenient. Cleaning was crap! There was poop leftover in the toilet when we checked in. Instantly makes you question the quality of cleaning, if any done at all!No concierge service to help with luggage. The walkway from the entrance of the hotel to the lobby is open air, which was terrible since it was pouring. Got soaked just entering :(Pros - Room is spacious. Kitchenette is very well appointed. Has everything you need to cook a meal, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and fridge included too.Location is pretty decent. Has many restaurants and shops close by. We have two "couture suites" inspired by great French couturiers.The one in which you stayed, indeed there are empty boxes of fashion houses that are boxes left by our regular customers inspired by the "fashion week".Of course, these boxes are empty, I do not see that we could have hoped to find inside.Our “couture suites” are very much in demand by our regular customers and sincerely this is the first time that we have such negative feedback on the decoration of the accommodation. Of course, it is a matter of opinion that belongs to everyone.You have chosen to stay in an aparthotel, and the services are different from the hotel. We do not have a concierge service for luggage unfortunately.On the other hand, what is unacceptable is the state in which you found the toilet and a point will be made with the Housekeeping service.I would like to apologize for the disappointing stay you had with us. Please be assured that we are always seeking to satisfy the expectations of our residents.
