    Great central hotel

    rating27 Dec 2025

Very clean hotel, comfortable bed, great location, friendly service, fantastic price for a city centre hotel, and quite a cosy atmosphere. We left our luggage along with a few smaller shopping bags and went off exploring on our last day. When we went to pick up the bags, the friendly receptionist offered us a larger bag to put all small bags into. Small things make the difference! Very unpleasant supervisor, don't choose this hotel because the humanity and understanding of one of the staff is not there. I have been to Paris many times, but this is the first time I have encountered this kind of treatment. I would suggest that the hotel management review the working principles of some of the staff. Please note, even if you booked a room you can get a message that it might be you will not get a room on arrival date if hotel does not get your confirmation asap. Have you ever got such message from any hotel?:)

    AVOID!!!!

    rating22 Jun 2024

Stayed in this hotel 11th-16th June and was a disaster from the beginning. As we got to the hotel they told us our room was on the 5th floor but the lift was broke so offered us a room on the 1st floor (that was fine we didn’t mind). As we carried cases up the first flight of stairs we got to the room that was a lot smaller that it seemed online but was just a place to sleep so wasn’t a big deal. That night as we were going to sleep to get an early night, the fire alarm went off and we were evacuated from the building. Turns out there had been an electrical fire on the 5th floor (where we were meant to be staying) and we were stood outside for hours. I think we were the only English speaking people in the hotel but the receptionist of the hotel did not even try let us know what was going on. We were left confused and scared and eventually I asked someone staying in the hotel if he spoke English and could let me and my friend know. We finally got let back in and it was as if nothing had happened. Obviously we were a bit anxious of staying there but we just got on with it. Over the next few nights we kept hearing noises but thought nothing of it until on the last night/ early hours of the morning of the day we were leaving I woke up at 2am to rustling/ scratching sounds in my room and another guest SCREAMING. We turned the lights on to at least 2 MICE in our room and obviously in other rooms as well. People were running about the hallways and someone even chapped our door. The guy on reception phoned our room and asked if we were okay as he could obviously hear screaming and when I explained there were mice running about he replied “okay” and hung up. By this point it was 3:30am and me and my friend did not want to stay there any longer so we packed our stuff up and left the hotel and waited at the train station for the first train to the airport which was at 5am. Our flight was not till 11am that day so we were sat for about 5 hours waiting as well as being up all night. Even on check out when I brought up the live the receptionist acted dumb as if he hadn’t just phoned me and could hear all the commotion. We are currently awaiting compensation from our travel agent as this is just not good enough. Upon reflection it would seem the mice were the cause of the fire as they could of easily been chewing through the wires and it is terrifying to think how very differently the outcome could of been with this kind of fire. The only good thing about this hotel is that it’s close to many train/metro stations but I still would not recommend staying here. We never ate the food in the restaurant but I think I’m glad about that if they have rodents running around.

    An overnight in Paris

    rating17 Mar 2024

We stayed one night at the Geneve as we flew of of Charles De Gaule the next morning. It was perfect for our needs. It is an older building on a side street which retains some of its older features and is not a modern, luxury hotel. It was easilly located and a short 10 or so minute walk from the Gare St. Lazarre with our bags. We checked in and set out to walk down the Seine and see as many sights as we could. The Geneve is an smaller, older hotel with winding staircase up the upper levels - there is a small lift. The rooms are small as you come to expect in Paris, but clean and complete with hairdryers, charging outlets and bright, new fixtures in the washrooms. Our room had a large window overlooking a shared back alley ( nothing pretty) which opened for fresh air. The breakfast is as expected in France, croissants, breads, coffee and espresso, dried and fresh fruit as well as cereals and was served in a bright room looking on the street adjacent to the front lobby. The staff were welcoming and helpful and booked us a taxi for the morning. The Geneva was affordable, in a good location and simply appointed to meet our needs.
