    Not the best experience

    rating18 May 2026

Regarding the location of the hotel it is quite practical but not %100 for exploring paris. The train station is around a 20 minute walk and 6 minutes in an uber which we did most days.As well as a lovely cafe next to it and a town close by to explore. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were expecting there to be 24 hour reception as we saw this on the website but this was not the case. It was 1.30am when we arrived to the hotel and we could not get in, we pressed the buzzer at the door loads of times as well as ringing the phone number pasted on the website but this was stated as a wrong number. Due to this, we needed to find a different hotel to stay in which had 24 hour reception and luckily we found one nearby. When we finally checked in the next day the staff were very friendly and helpful but did not speak a lot of english. The room did not look like the photos and it was also tiny. The bathroom was very small which is not accommodating for those of a larger build but the shower was good, the bed was fairly comfy. The room was clean and we had the opportunity for the maid to make up our room if we wanted which was nice, a nice 4 in 1 in the shower as well. The corridors smelt of pure marajuana a lot of the time which was not pleasant at all. Alongside this, the lift broke with my boyfriend inside and it is dodgy overall and there are a lot of stairs which is not ideal if you have large and heavy cases. We paid a total of €362 for 4 nights which sounds good in terms of value but for us it was not worth it at all. They charge a city tax of €10 per night per person which we found awfully expensive compared to other places as well as the price fluctuating every night from €60 to €111 which seemed unreasonable. It was extremely noisy, the walls are very thin and you could hear vibrations from doors closing along the corridors so if you wanted to stay somewhere peaceful this is not the place.

Well Located, Friendly Hotel with Adequate Rooms

    rating01 Sept 2018

After requesting a room with windows that could be left open at night, the 2 ladies on reception gave me a room on the second floor, which was perfect. Not a large room but adequate, and I slept soundly with cool fresh air rather than A/C. I had meetings starting early at IFP so do not have breakfast. It is short walk along the narrow interesting streets to the main square of Reuil-Malmaison. On checkout I was in a hurry and when I asked where I could purchase a bus ticket, Esdene, the gentleman on reception Kindly gave me a bus ticket; now that is certainly service which should be recognized. Thank you so much. Whenever I come back to Reuil-Malmaison, I will use this hotel. Thank you! marie c, Directeur général at Hotel Des Arts, responded to this review Hello,We are delighted that you have appreciated your stay. A provider of an unpleasant experience

    rating14 May 2018

In general, they made me disappointed for about 90 euro/night.A good point about the hotel is its location - a 5-10 min walk to the town centre and very close to good restaurants. In my case, I got a "standard" double room based on the ground floor; the door of the room was literally the next one to the hotel's café and just about 10 steps from the main entrance and the reception desk. As a result, at 6:45 am I was hearing noise from the café (breakfast was starting at 7am), then during the day I heard people talking in the hotel's lounge and then, one day in the evening, at 6:30pm they started cleaning the lounge with a vacuum cleaner, which is not the most quiet type of house holding equipment. During my stay, they got problems with the AC system. If you take into account the "norm" tiny size of rooms in typical French hotels (not luxury ones) and prices of rooms, then I would kindly ask you to think trice before you book a room in this hotel. marie c, Directeur général at Hotel Des Arts, responded to this review Dear sirWe are sorry for the noise problems on the ground floor. If we had been warned of the inconveniences met during your stay we would have proposed a room in high floor. We are very attentive to the comfort of our guests and always make every effort so that they have a pleasant stay. Hope to welcome you again and to give you satisfaction.Kind Regards
