    Location, comfort, pleasant, VfM

    rating13 Mar 2026

Superb location, easy to find and get to, comfortable and clean, friendly landlady and staff. Super-convenient for access to central Paris and further afield - is a short walk to Gare de Lyon, and on a direct metro line (5) from gare du Nord. Near the trendy 11th cafe sector, and the river.En suite Room had double bed, window which opened, wardrobe, suitcase holder and small table. Everything worked , bed was comfortable. Small bottle water provided but No kettle in room but the lady made me a coffee to take up to my room. Supermarkets, cafes, restaurants within5 min walk. There is a v small lift.Area felt safe.Would definitely stay here again .

    Nice Hotel for city trip

    rating08 Jun 2025

Nice, basic hotel for city trip.Rooms are ok (nothing special), staff very friendly, wifi works as it should. We didn't take breakfast so I can't comment about that.Location is great, near several metro stations so you are in in the (real) city centre in a couple of minutes (Louvre, Notre Dame,...).Overall: Hotel is nothing special but perfect for a city trip when you use the room only to sleep. Would stay here in again.I wouldn't stay here for a business trip as the room are to basic if you want to work in your room or stay there for a longer time

    Comfy & good value

    rating03 Nov 2023

Lovely atmosphere, compact but comfy room with all amenity you need. Oldschool phone box-sized lift that you need to manually open the door. Staff are all very warm and friendly. The building is retrofit of an old building, so the walls are not super sound proof. If you had a shouty argument in your room, guests in the neighbouring rooms can hear it. Located in an office area so the view might not be spectacular, but on the plus, it's quiet at night. A supermarket nearby. Cosy & functional hotel, conveniently located, good value for money. Happy to stay again.

My favourite place to stay on short trips

    rating20 Jun 2023

Exemplary small hotel. Very clean neat, staff very friendly and helpful. The Marais is my favourite area to stay with it's canal, very central, lovely local restaurants. In New York I might describe this as a Pod hotel, except it has more character, but it has everything needed for a short stay. I can't think of anything it was lacking in. One point, the lift is exceedingly small and has a weight restriction of 150lbs - Americans take note. Ask for a room on 1st/2nd floor if you are unable to do the stairs, or go up in the lift one, by one. We managed two of us, plus our hand luggage, but then we are tall and slim and didn't at all mind the climb to the 5th floor. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip.

Ladies, beware, stay here at your own peril!

    rating27 Dec 2022

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had in my many years of travelling. If you are a woman on your own or women on your own, for safety reasons I would go elsewhere.During our short stay, we experienced bullying, aggression and harassment particularly by the man who sometimes did the night shift at reception. We also had regular issues with the woman at reception, Marie, taking away the tea cups we asked for from our room. The other lovely Irish lady at reception kindly lent us a kettle, so we asked for cups to use with this rather than the paper cups provided, which disintegrated if used more than once. On one of the occasions when we called reception again to ask for cups, as they had been pettily taken away from our room once again, this man said he couldn't help and said to ask tomorrow (aggressively!). Then I pleaded with him and he said to come down and get them, which I did. He gave me, once again, some very small, decidedly not for tea, disposable paper cups and said otherwise he couldn't help. We had been given cups by other members of staff previously but this man, egged on by Marie, was adamantly unhelpful. Finally, after much pleading, he went into the kitchen and I followed him because he had not understood which cups I was talking about and I wanted to show him, and he then started yelling at me even though I had not raised my voice at all and squared up to me as if to intimidate me, an elderly 70 year old woman, shouting and swearing and acting in a very aggressive and violent manner. Luckily a fellow guest, an Irish man, caught him in the act and jumped to my defence, truly shocked by this man's uncalled-for treatment of an elderly woman - he was a true hero, who knows what would have happened if he hadn't intervened. The man from reception then turned on the Irish guest and swore at him and insulted him for about 10-15 minutes, getting aggressive towards him too. Finally when the man at reception would not stop yelling, I and my daughter went up to our room with the cups shaken by the whole horrible experience and then went out a little later after turning the TV off, and switching off our lights. When we returned from dinner, the front door of the hotel was locked (which had never happened before) and the reception man was nowhere to be seen, after we buzzed he finally appeared and unlocked the door. When we then went up to our room, we found the lights on, the TV on very loud and the Do Not Disturb sign that we had put on the door turned over to say Please Make Up Room Now, obviously someone had been in our room. We did ask the man to help us call the police but he refused, so we called them on our own phone and they told us we should head to our local station. We thought we would see how things went and instead barricade our door to avoid the man intruding while we slept. Needless to say, we slept very badly, absolutely terrified and very shaken for the remainder of our stay. This behaviour is absolutely incredible for a hotel that hopes to keep attracting international guests, that this man not only yelled and harassed me and my daughter, but also did the same to another guest who tried to help us, I have never seen anything like this, even at youth hostels or B&Bs I've stayed in previously, as well as hotels of all stars. I will never return. In fact, this has possibly put me off Paris for life (and I have visited it many many times!).Ladies (and maybe even men), beware, don't stay at this hotel!!
