  The hotel's location is very good "me and my daughter reserved a room on the 3rd floor ,it was quiet and clean with a private small bathroom .They provide clean towels .The room contains 2 beds , a fan , a TV , a small desk with kettle and some tea packets and carton cups . The Hotel team was friendly and helpful .

  Perfectly fine for a Paris stay! Didn't spend much time in the hotel as that's not what you go to Paris for! 4 night stay with my wife and 2 year old son. Clean hotel, fresh towels daily, rooms cleaned and beds made. Friendly helpful staff and great location, the street is beautiful and only a 2 minute walk to Gambetta metro stop! Supermarket, pharmacy, boulangerie all within 1 minute walk!

  Unusually Bad Experience on Check Out

  I have stayed at the Hipotel Paris Gambetta Republic on 236 Rue des Pyrénées on many occasions as I used to live in this part of Paris. The man and woman who normally work there during the day are very nice. I would normally rate this hotel a 3 as it is in a good location and is a good value. On my last visit I stayed there on 28 and 29 December and when I checked out at 12:00 on Sunday 30 December I had a terrible experience. I asked the younger man who was working at Reception if I could leave my small carry on luggage there for a couple of hours and he very rudely and abruptly said no, even though I have done this on a number of occasions in the past. So, I had to carry this around Paris for several hours. In addition, I was rudely told that checkout was 11 am even though their website on Hotels.com clearly says 12:00 noon. This individual who appears not to be a people person should be given some basic training in courtesy and customer service by the Management of this Hotel as well as training on the Hotel’s check out policy. Very disappointing as I have been a frequent guest at this hotel and as I have stayed there on many occasions in the past which is why I am only giving it a rating of 2 on this occasion.

  There Are Better Places to Stay!!

  With many options in Paris for thrifty travelers like me, there is no reason to stay here! There is no elevator, and we were on the 3rd floor and had to climb a very scary spiral staircase to get to our room. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and there were never adequate towels in the bathroom. The only redeeming qualities about this hotel is that there is a nice restaurant with friendly waitstaff next to the hotel, and many cheese, meat and pastry shops and delis that offer inexpensive food. It is also very close to the Gambetta metro station. the neighborhood was quiet and residential, but this hotel needs a complete makeover for me to consider staying there again.

  What good things can I say about this hotel? None. The man on reception had an “I can’t be bothered attitude” no lift, we’re a family of 4, 1 who is disabled, I wish I’d of taken heed before booking this hotel - no lift, no help up 3 flights of stairs (the stairs are awful) after lugging the kids up the stairs and our suitcases we walked into what must of been a hostel type of room, I’m sorry but right there and then we decided to book a different hotel - this wasn’t good enough for our needs. 1 double bed and 1 single bed for 4 people? We went down to speak to the man on reception about this but he wasn’t about to get out of his seat let alone help us out. So, we decided to lug everything down the 3 flights of stairs straight out the door and to a different hotel. This hotel is very basic. If your just a couple then this may suit you but certainly not for a family.
