  TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE: Illegal Break-In Attempt by Aggressive Hotel Staff

  We suffered severe mental trauma during our stay that made us feel no longer safe and fleed this hotel earlier than planned. I strongly WARN anyone AGAINST staying here if you value your personal safety, privacy, and basic human rights.During our stay, an unidentified man violently pounded on our door, aggressively demanding entry close to midnight. Of course we hesitated to open it, trying to communicate through the door first. Due to his limited English, the only phrase he repeated was "Reception, open the door please," utterly failing to provide any explanation. Rather than utilising a simple translation app to bridge the communication gap, he continuously and aggressively punched our door. Ironically, this hotel has advertised that English is spoken at reception. As two female guests who had just showered and were not even fully dressed, we felt incredibly vulnerable and terrified by this aggressive behavior. We repeatedly asked why he needed to enter and warned we will call police , but he resorted to insults, and yelled at us “Are you crazy?”The nightmare escalated into a completely unlawful act when he returned with a hotel master key and attempted to force his way into our room without our consent. Adding to our absolute panic, the hotel room doors do not even have internal security locks or deadbolts. We had to physically push the door together with our own bodies desperately while we waiting for the police.It was only when the police arrived that we discovered this aggressive person was actually the night receptionist, and that there was a water leak from our room to the lobby downstairs. However, this DOES NOT justify the violent pounding, refusal to communicate, verbal insults, threats, and attempting to break in. Also I believe this is not how an incident should be handled by a professional hotel staff. He didn't try to explain this situation and try change our room first before he wants to come in to two females guest's room around midnight.Shockingly, in our subsequent email correspondence, the hotel management attempted to excuse his actions. They claimed the night staff was acting "within the scope of his duties" to limit property damage, blatantly dismissing this terrifying ordeal as a mere "lack of professionalism."I am absolutely appalled that a legitimate hotel would make excuses this after being shown video evidence of this terrifying incident. Forcing entry into a guest's room without consent is ILLEGAL in any countries !!!! Even the responding police officers acknowledged that the receptionist's behavior was grounds for arrest.It leaves me wondering if this hotel actually has any sort of comprehension of French law or even basic common sense of protecting guest's safety. The receptionist's aggression and illegal actions were abhorrent and have severely impacted our mental well-being and the remainder of our travel plans. Even after leaving Paris, we are haunted by the sheer panic of someone breaking into our room. We never want to return because of the mental trauma caused by this hotel.

  5 star treatment in a 4 star hotel

  I cannot praise this hotel enough from the moment we got here the staff were amazing especially Edwin! We had some issues with our transfers and he immediately sorted it out and made us feel at ease. The hotel is clean cosy and perfect for a Paris trip with everything in close proximity. Plenty of restaurants to choose from to eat! We arrived in the evening and was greeted with the Eiffel Tower in full sight all lit up it was spectacular! Will definitely be staying here again! Thankyou for a pleasant stay

  It is in a great location just a 5 min walk to the Eiffel Tower…the staff is super nice and will give you great advice on things to go see and do..plus there is a Starbucks right outside the front door..the rooms are cute and just what you need..I will stay here again if we come back…thanks for the memories….   We were pleasantly surprised, as we chose the hotel as it had good transport links to Roland Garros. We found that not only was the hotel comfortable but was in walking distance of the Eiffel tower. The lady on reception was very helpful. There were plenty of restaurants and bars right on our doorstep.   Love this Charming Hotel!

  My 12-year old daughter and I stayed here when we travelled to see Taylor Swift in May. I chose it because it looked like such a little cozy, quaint hotel. And it is! The rooms are very small, but if you're only travelling as a two-person party, it's enough room. The only complaint I have about the size of the room was the lack of space for luggage, but that's probably on us for bringing so much stuff. I wanted to stay close to the Eiffel Tower and this is a 15-20 minute walk. My daughter and I went down there 4 times. It's close to a lot of amenities and places that are familiar. There are two grocery stores in the immediate area (one across the street), a Starbucks, and a huge shopping mall. There are also a lot of cafes if you want something more authentic to Paris. The most convenient part is that the metro station is right across the street and another 10 minutes away so you're connected to everything and you can get anything you need right there. Bakeries, patisseries, restaurants, etc. all right on your block. And the hotel is so charming and clean. I asked the front desk staff for help on a number of occasions for directions or how best to get to the Taylor concert. Their English was good and they were always willing to help. Beaugrenelle is a great little area with so much to offer. I would recommend this to anyone that wants easy, convenient access to all amenities and easy access to transportation to get to where you want to go. We'd be at the museums, the Latin Quarter, etc. in a matter of minutes. Highly recommended!
