  A hotel near Notre Dame

  The Hotel Belloy is very well situated only a 10 minute walk to the Seine and Notre Dame. Hotel Belloy would be best described as a boutique hotel in the St. Germaine district of Paris , very close to the Latin quarter.The staff are very friendly and efficient and the hotel is very clean. If you enjoy large rooms, this is not the hotel for you as most rooms would be considered very small compared to North America but we felt this was very typical of rooms in the area.If I had one criticism it would be that the climate control system in our room could not keep up to the very warm temperatures Europe was encountering, which made for very uncomfortable sleeping. This hotel is worth considering.   The hotel decor and Deluxe Double room we had were very nice. However the AC didn't work - basically it was just a fan - though it did help cover the street noise. Breakfast was cold items which was fine, but the coffee is self-serve from a machine. The website shows a lobby bar that doesn't exist. Instead there is a self-serve espresso machine.   From the very moment that we arrived at this Hotel we felt relaxed and knew we would love our stay - and that feeling proved to be true.Morgan on Reception was exactly the right person to have on Reception. He was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and with a great sense of humour - we enjoyed exchanging a mix of English & French banter throughout our stay and we shared many laughs. Check-in was a breeze & we were soon in our beautiful room - lovely decor, superbly-equipped, comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast room was undergoing some alterations during our stay (can't wait to see the finished result !), so arrangements had been pre-made for ourselves (and other hotel guests) to enjoy breakfast directly across the street at a quaint little bar-restaurant. Any minor teething problems on day-1 were immediately addressed by Morgan, after which everything was lovely.Hotel Belloy is situated in the 6th Arrondissement, just off Boulevard St Michel and we were so pleased that we chose this area - and specifically the Hotel Belloy. It is a superb location with literally everything (River Boat trips, Hop on-off bus stops, gorgeous Cafe's & Restaurants as well as the iconic Notre Dame, and so much more) just a few minutes walk away.We cannot praise this Hotel highly enough. As well as Morgan, all of the other staff that we met were excellent. We already want to return and we will re-book our stay at Hotel Belloy without any hesitation. If you are looking for a lovely hotel in a lovely location we whole-heartedly recommend Hotel Belloy - it was such a delight to stay here, and if it were possible we would give it a score or 11 out of 10 !   Great Location, Charming Stay with Classic Parisian Tradeoffs

  My stay at Hôtel Belloy Saint-Germain was defined by its exceptional location and unmistakable Left Bank charm. Perfectly situated just moments from Notre-Dame Cathedral, the hotel places you in the heart of one of Paris’s most atmospheric neighborhoods where every turn offers a café, wine bar, or tucked-away street worth wandering.While Eiffel Tower is about a 45 minute stroll, the walk feels indulgent rather than inconvenient, carrying you through some of the city’s most vibrant and picturesque pockets of Paris, perfect for lingering over a chocolat chaud or an impromptu apéritif along the way.The rooms, though intimate as expected in Paris, feel quintessentially Parisian in the best sense. I was fortunate to have a higher floor room facing the main street, offering a view of Notre Dame and the surrounding Haussmann architecture—an experience that elevated the entire stay and felt undeniably special.The elevator is notably compact (very much in line with historic Parisian buildings), accommodating only a couple of guests at a time. While I often opted for the stairs to reach my fourth-floor room, the reward was well worth it for the light, perspective, and view.I would absolutely return. For the most elevated experience, I recommend requesting a higher-floor room facing the main street and embracing the stairs as part of the charm.
