Mediocre and likely won’t stay here again

    rating21 May 2026

I stayed with you this week in Paris and wanted to provide an updated review as this was my second stay at this property. Room size small - I was less impressed with the hotel this go around. My status is double what it was last stay and I received a much lesser room on a special trip. I was here on business, but also had my life-long best friend visiting with me in our first trip internationally together. The room was very small and my suitcases would not fit properly when they were opened. :( this was pretty crammed and inconvenient which I didn’t love. As a Marriott Ambassador elite I was hoping for a bit better treatment especially on a special occasion.Broken Phone - The telephone in the room did not work. It literally fell apart into like three pieces and also the cordless phone wouldn’t work - only the speaker phone worked. Made it inconvenient to call for needed services.Very Old Indented Mattress (uncomfortable)- The mattress on the bed was very old. Like had full body indentations to where the bed literally leaned towards the middle making it very uncomfortable on my back. Fitness Center Embarrassing - it was tiny. It has only one treadmill and it was broken. I was unable to work out at all during my stay because of this. I’m a heavy business traveler and my routines on health and fitness are important especially working for a healthcare company and this fully broke my routine for the week and caused a lot of disruption to my schedule having had to look for other options for physical fitness which is pretty unacceptable especially for a Marriott property known for high level business travelers.Overall the staff were mostly friendly and mostly helpful. I had one minor issue with concierge where I needed to change the pick up time of my car service and asked for confirmations via WhatsApp same day as I was out at meetings, but never heard from anyone. That was disappointing. They fixed the car but no one told me.Given this is my second stay at this property and I was a bit disappointed again I likely won’t choose to stay at this property again. I had a lot of issues last time I stayed with you, but chose to give a second chance. I think this time solidified my perspective.

    An outstanding experience

Our family party of eight stayed four nights at this outstanding hotel. Our four rooms, both superior and suites, were beautiful and comfortable. All staff were gracious and professional. The concierge, in particular, was very helpful, assisting us with restaurant reservations, recommendations and problem-solving (car rental issues). The breakfasts were excellent and servers were very attentive. The management and staff made our stay in Paris exceptional and memorable. On our return to Paris, we will choose to stay at the Hotel de Berri!

Chose the hotel for convenience - and so pleasantly and agreeably surprised!

We had a one night stay in Paris on our way home from Bordeaux. I picked the hotel on the basis of my IHG points. I didn't really have high expectations, but I was blown away by how wonderful the hotel was. The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. The room was much bigger than I expected and spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. The entire floor looked recently renovated and was pristine. While overlooking the street and only on the second floor, it was quiet and serene. I was very happy with how pleasant and agreeable the stay was. I recognize that the hotel does not have curb appeal, but the interior comfort and great location were big pluses for us - as was the spotlessly clean and comfortable room and bath.

TERRIBLE - avoid at all costs

    rating05 Jan 2026

We booked two rooms at Hotel de Berri for two nights in Paris after a week skiing in the alps. Our experience was nothing short of disastrous. I would 0/10 recommend this hotel vs other Bonvoy options in Paris. 1. We had booked one room on points and one room through a Marriott STARS advisor. This rate includes daily breakfast, a monetary hotel credit, a welcome amenity and upgrades upon availability. The hotel could not tell me at check in what the hotel credit was for over 24 hours (it's 85 Euro for those interested). There was not a welcome amenity in the room on arrival. We are also Marriott Ambassador members so typically we have at least a note in our room upon arrival. 2. We applied Suite Night Upgrades for one room and received the Berri Suite 5 nights before our arrival. No additional upgrade was offered and the hotel did not recognize that we used certificates for the upgrade, rather they claimed that they gave us the upgrade. Our room smelled like mould and the floors in the bathroom desperately need bleaching. Additionally, the heat did NOT work in the room. It remained at a chilly 17C at all times. The bathroom had a VERY odd set up where the toilet was not in the shower/sink/tub room, but in the hallway (ie. you could not wash your hands before touching doors after using the toilet). We had requested via email (which was acknowledged) that the king bed be separated into two twins. They had no record of that on arrival and it took an hour to sort that out, the evening of our arrival. 3. The safe did not work on our arrival. We asked that they fix it before we left for dinner. After waiting an HOUR for someone to arrive, we called and they told us that no one was there that could fix it. It was fixed >24 hours after our arrival. 4. Strangely for a suite, there were no slippers and only one robe in the room on arrival. They also did not do any time of turn down service which is unusual for a Luxury Collection stay. The Berri Suite is one room, so it is akin to a junior suite rather than a true suite with a separate living area. 7. On our first night we sat in the bar for 30 minutes waiting for a bartender. They didn't ever show up. 8. On the following night, the bartender spilled an entire beer on me. No offer to help clean up and certainly no offer to dry clean my cashmere sweater which I took back WET to the US. After this incident, they didn't even apply the drinks certificate given to us at check in so we paid for all of the drinks, including the beer that was spilled all over me. 10. Breakfast was a complete disaster. An hour for eggs at a table where we couldn't see the food because the lighting was so bad. They were severely understaffed and the breakfast room which doubles as the bar, was NOT ideal for eating a meal (low tables with uncomfortable seating and horrible lighting). The assistant GM reached out to me after our stay, admitting none of the awful service mishaps and offered me 10,000 Marriott points for our inconveniences (For informational purposes, our one room was 133,000 points per NIGHT so the 10,000 offer was offensive). They were not received which is unsurprising given our stay.
