    Beautiful little gem in Paris

    rating18 Apr 2026

This hotel is a gem, a perfect little jewel tucked into the heart of the 6th arrondissement. The staff are superb, so friendly and welcoming and eager to help. It’s quiet and restful and very nice to come home to after busy days in Paris. A few small quibbles—the room smelled like cooked cabbage throughout the entire 5 days of our stay. Fortunately we could open the windows to air it out, but it was annoying. Our room was small but well designed, and a little tired in places. One bedside light was broken. And the hairdryer in the bathroom was decades old and didn’t work well. But we would definitely stay here again.

Beatiful property, great location, boutique feel…with room to improve

    rating25 Jan 2026

Great location, sitting area, garden, attentive service. This boutique hotel exudes a Parisian feel of luxury. We had a very enjoyable stay. So why not 5 Starts? It feels like the property could really be fantastic….but, the furniture in the rooms all feel like they need to refurbished. The pieces aren’t soiled, but the cushions have all seen better days. Towels and linens are clean and refreshed every day, but they’re not of the highest quality implied by how the hotel markets itself. The housekeeping and wait staff are all fantastic. The desk staff are also great but they’re also seem to be tasked with taking the role of a conceirge which isn’t really reasonable. At peak times it seems the desk person is alone. With all this said, I’d consider returning but will look hard at other properties in the same area and price range.

    The quintessential Paris Hotel

    rating20 Jan 2026

We have stayed at this hotel at least once a year for a decade. It’s our home away from home and we can’t imagine a better place to stay in Paris. We love the staff, the rooms, the breakfast, the atrium, and the location. We adore the apartment terrace suite, and this year’s stay in the contemporary suite was lovely as well. Some places simply steal your heart — Hôtel de l’Abbaye stole ours 10 years ago. The only hard part is packing to leave and saying goodbye to this beautiful treasure.

    Intimate, warm and comfortable hotel.

    rating09 Dec 2025

A unique hotel in a perfect location to explore Paris. The hotel is a converted abbey that exudes charm and intimacy. It has a comfortable homely feel with an open fire, sofas and armchairs to relax in the salon and a pretty terrace. The rooms are beautiful and characterful, very clean, yes - smaller than modern hotels as previous reviews harp on about - but this is Paris and if you are seeking large, contemporary and impersonal, then this beautiful spot is not for you. Agree - beds are moderately comfy! Mattress toppers would improve things there for those with older bones. We found the staff to be attentive, courteous and kind. Breakfast on the terrace was delicious. Walking distance to Notre Dame and the Pont Neuf and Marais district added to the appeal. St Sulpice metro station is around the corner so easy access to greater Paris. St Germain is elegant and friendly and a great spot to stay. High end shopping and plenty of cafes and restaurants. Would stay again and recommend for any who enjoy intimate, colourful, unique places with history.

Too cramped, not worth it even for the nice location.

    rating11 Nov 2025

Looks so charming online. But:-Room is sadistically small, lovely fig-scented diptyque toiletries though-Common areas also very cramped, difficult to find a place to just lounge -Check in: only one person so there was a long half hour wait. Vibe: indifferent. It's not the worth the price, it feels so cramped and scaled for 19th century people.
