  Lovely hotel in the heart of the Marais

  Lovely little hotel on a quiet street in the heart of the Marais with a boutique vibe. Very well placed for many major attractions. Extremely friendly, helpful staff. It's an old building, on six floors but there's a lift. We had a room on the top floor: fairly small but immaculate and very quiet at night. One caveat: the WiFi is somewhat patchy, but this might only apply to our room. Breakfast is served in your room if you want it, but we went 50 metres round the corner to a nice old-fashioned intensely local Parisian bar/bistro where petit dejeuner for two costs less than 20 Euros. Loved our stay there. Highly recommended.   Great location. The room was quite plain but it was clean and the staff was super helpful. They brought coffee to our room on the morning. Would recommend and would stay again.   My first negative review of anyplace!

  I had stayed here twice before and like the hotel and its location very much. I booked two nights using my Venture Capital One Master card points earned over a very long period of time. I booked using the Venture website - they made the arrangements. I found out a month before my reservation that I would need to have serious surgery with a 6 week recuperation period so I notified the hotel - not to ask for a refund- but to ask if I could postpone my reservation until the spring when I would again be able to travel. Despite the fact that I sent them my surgeon's letter, they refused to accept the change and said it was because I had booked through a third party- Travelocity. I explained that I myself had not made the booking - the credit card company did. I had no idea that they did not book directly with the hotel. I tried getting the charges stopped through Venture Capital One - the hotel refused to budge. They had been given more than a month's notice and I am sure they gave the room to someone else and charged me almost $800.00 in points! It is a shame since, not only was I a loyal customer, I had recommended them to my friends over the years. This was not elective surgery! My doctor insisted I cancel my trip and be operated on immediately. It is a shame that this hotel was so heartless during a stressful, painful time.
