Perfect Marais location for walkability and restaurants

    rating06 Apr 2026

Our experience started when we first entered the lobby and was met by Gwendolyn. She was very pleasant and genuinely happy to meet us. The “lobby” was an open room to the front entrance and it was where you could meet other guests for breakfast or a comfortable place to sit and watch people out of the big front windows. Breakfast was very tasty and the same every morning. 7am to 10am. Fresh squeezed orange juice was a nice touch along with a selection of teas and different kinds of coffee and hot chocolate. A selection of pastry and bread and I’d highly recommend the flaky chocolate buns which were just so delicious. We had originally booked a room no higher than the 3rd floor but we were moved to a room on the 6th floor which turned out to be perfect. The room was a decent size for two people with an adequate amount of shelving and closet space. We both had just carry on size luggage and they fit into the cupboards. The beds were comfortable and we both slept well. We had two twin beds that were basically pushed together but it worked for us. We both wore earplugs at night so can’t really attest to the noise of the hotel in the middle of the night. I used the elevator everyday and it was only good for one person with a small amount of luggage. I didn’t have to wait long at all for it to come to me.As a bonus we had our own private balcony which we took advantage of everyday. I was nice after a long day to come back and sit outside for a bit and just people watch. The shower area was actually quite good and was semi private. It was definitely a wet room with the shower and sink in one space. It was spotlessly clean and the toilet was in a separate room. A lot of reviews state that the shower area was open and in the room but this particular room (61) was not like that. The location being in Marais was the best you can get for walkability and restaurants. There is a subway entrance across the street but we didn’t use it as we could walk and enjoy our surroundings. The only places we didn’t walk to was the Eiffel Tower and the Champs Élysées and we took an Uber. There is also a grocery store across the street which was handy to pick up a few things. If you’re a woman coming to shop for pharmacy skin care there is a very well appointed pharmacy just across the street.I would definitely stay here again for all the reasons mentioned. Marie T, Propriétaire at Hotel Emile Le Marais, responded to this review Thank you so much for your kind and detailed review! We’re delighted to hear you had such a pleasant stay and that our location in the Marais made it easy for you to explore and enjoy the neighborhood. We’re also glad you enjoyed the breakfast and that your room, balcony, and overall comfort met your expectations. It’s wonderful to hear the layout of room 61 suited you well and that you found everything clean and practical. We appreciate you mentioning the nearby amenities too—they really do make a difference for our guests. We would be absolutely delighted to welcome you back on your next visit to Paris!Best,The Front Desk

Horrible hotel, bad service, website phot is wrong, no bathroom door and it seems it’s normal, bloody unethical

    rating28 Feb 2026

One of the worst hotel I have stayed. The hotel staffs are not bothered, the lobby is nothing compared to what you have seen on the booking picture, it looks like a hostel. There is no bathroom door and apparently it’s normal! It’s been hours I’ve been trying to get hold of customer service services of booking and no one responded. The hotel staffs are just not helpful and they are busy with their stuffs. We pay so much money for a hotel that's nothing to decent to what its stated. The staff stated it's normal! It's sickening to think this is normal. We were friends staying and it's been a horrible experience. Marie T, Propriétaire at Hotel Emile Le Marais, responded to this review Dear Bella26UK,We are very sorry to hear about your experience. This is certainly not the standard we strive to provide, and we understand how frustrating this must have been for you. Fantastic staff! Small rooms, tiny elevator, uncomfortable bed & pillows

    rating09 Nov 2025

Pros: staff were phenomenal! Gwendolyn, Filipe, and Leon were warm, welcoming, and supportive of all requests. They made us feel like family. Our corner room had a freestanding bathtub and hot water was plentiful with good pressure.Superb location with everything you could want in the 4th arrondissement just steps away.Cons: Lobby was under repair and wrapped in plastic while we were there. Exterior was wrapped in scaffolding to the top floor so exterior views were obstructed. Tiny elevator could only fit two people—not for the claustrophobic!Corner room was oddly shaped with no place to put luggage. Handheld showerhead had no clip other than a 3M plastic broom holder and could not be positioned properly. Showerhead was not tight to the hose and leaked across entire room to door of room. Pillows were hard and lumpy. Bed had a noticeable seam down the middle where two mattresses were joined. Temperature was set for entire building and alternated between too hot to sleep to freezing cold. Marie T, Propriétaire at Hotel Emile Le Marais, responded to this review Bonjour RelaxedButDiscerning,Un grand merci d’avoir pris le temps de partager votre expérience ! Bien cordialement,Hotel Emile Staff

Reservation Unjustifiably Canceled 5 Days Before Arrival — Completely Ruined Our Trip.

    rating12 Oct 2025

Our entire multi-city Europe trip was booked three months in advance, including two separate room reservations at Hotel Emile Le Marais, as we were traveling with another couple. This hotel was the only one of five that failed to honor its commitment and nearly ruined our vacation.Three days before our flight to Europe (five days before our arrival in Paris), we received an email stating the hotel could not process the charge for the first night on one of the rooms, requesting an update. We immediately contacted our bank, who confirmed unequivocally that the hotel had never even attempted to submit the charge. Despite this, we re-entered the card details on Booking.com.Two days later, the hotel unilaterally canceled one of our two reserved rooms. We were left scrambling to find accommodation for half our party just five days before our scheduled arrival. Desperate, we immediately called the hotel (at 11 PM Paris time) and were told to call back during business hours. We then sent an urgent email via Booking.com, offering to pay for all four nights in full, immediately, to reinstate the reservation. The hotel never replied to our plea. The consequence of this unjustified cancellation and total lack of communication was disastrous: we were forced to book a separate, extremely expensive last-minute hotel, and our party had to be split up.Hotel Emile Le Marais demonstrated a complete lack of care and professionalism regarding a long-standing reservation. There was no valid reason for the cancellation, and the failure to even respond to a customer facing an emergency is unacceptable. We strongly advise other travelers to be wary of their booking reliability. Front Desk Hotel, Propriétaire at Hotel Emile Le Marais, responded to this review Dear Guest,We are truly sorry to read your disappointment and sincerely regret the inconvenience you experienced. After verifying your file, we confirm that your reservation was made through Booking.com. On September 16th, a pre-authorization request was made through the Booking platform in order to guarantee your stay, as required by the booking conditions. Unfortunately, there wer no answer for this demand. In accordance with Booking’s procedures, and after 24 hours without successful authorization, the system automatically cancelled the reservation. Unfortunately, as all communication must go through the Booking.com extranet, we were unable to contact you directly to resolve the issue more quickly. We truly regret that this situation disrupted your travel plans. Had we been contacted directly, we would have gladly assisted in finding an alternative solution to maintain both reservations. We sincerely hope to have the opportunity to welcome you in the future and to offer you the quality of service for which Hôtel Émile is usually recognized.Kind regards,The Hôtel Émile Le Marais Team
