Affordable hotel with clean rooms - I would visit again.

    rating13 Feb 2026

The hotel has everything you need for a quick break. Rooms are clean but are a little small (like a lot of rooms in the big cities). Reception was staffed 24/7 which was perfect for my late check in. Staff friendly and the prices were very affordable. Pillows and bed were very comfortable and I’m over 6ft tall.

Hôtel France Louvre –The devil’s hotel, a damp and scammy hole where Parisian dreams rot. Don’t come even if you’re dead

    rating11 Feb 2026

Hey, listen up, you who’s still thinking of booking a hotel in Paris! Don’t fall for the retouched photos or cheap promises on Booking or their crappy website. The Hôtel France Louvre is the worst trap in the Marais, a dive disguised as 3 stars. You arrive excited because it’s on Rue de Rivoli, super central, near the Louvre… but the second you step in, bam: disgusting carpet smelling of mold, dampness, and years of filth, walls soaked with black leak stains like the Seine flooded in and nobody bothered to dry it. The air is sticky, suffocating – the heater is broken and stuck on full blast, turning the room into an extra-hot oven, you sweat non-stop with no way to turn it down. The room: a tiny dump, bed sagging with lumps and weird stains, bathroom with black moldy grout, dripping tap, leaking toilet, shower flooding everything because the drain’s clogged for decades. Smell of damp + stale + old smoke + rot = perfect combo to catch fungus while sleeping. The elevator… it’s so tiny it’s impossible for two people with luggage! You have to squeeze in sideways like sardines, and it still scrapes everything. Big suitcases? Forget it – climb stairs hauling everything or make ridiculous trips. And the cherry on top: online it looks “all included” at a decent price… then bam, they slap you with almost 200 euros extra! Inflated city tax, made-up “service fees”, untouched minibar… Pure scammers with a Parisian smirk. You complain? “That’s life, pay or leave.” Thieves!Staff: some try to be polite, most couldn’t care less. Elevator broken? “Walk up, it’s good for you.”This dump is a damp, dirty, dishonest hell. Even the pigeons avoid it. RUN! There are thousands of decent hotels in the area for the same price. Don’t come here, it’s the devil’s hotel where Paris dreams die drowned in humidity and scams. Seriously, skip it or regret it forever, word from a world traveler: it’s worse than the worst hotel in India or Vietnam, and that’s saying a lot. 😡

    Hotel overrated

    rating01 Jun 2025

This is a one star hotel. It was seriously outdated with no A/C. The bathroom mirror was so mottled you could barely see in it and the bathroom light over the sink not working didn’t help. You need help getting in and out of the really high tub to take a shower. On our last morning, a water pipe broke on the second floor and consequently there was no water in the hotel. We could only wash with hot water. We had to use the toilet in the basement. The pipe broke during the night but the plumber didn’t arrive until 8:30 a.m. They gave us free breakfast but no refund. The staff is sympathetic but the new owners aren’t putting any money into this place. Great location but terrible hotel. FranceLouvre, at Hotel France Louvre, responded to this review Dear Anthony , Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We sincerely apologize for the multiple issues you experienced during your stay, including the bathroom conditions, lack of air conditioning, and the water pipe incident. We understand how frustrating and inconvenient this must have been, and we regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your kind words about our staff and have shared your comments with the management team as we continue to review and improve the hotel’s facilities and maintenance. Your feedback is invaluable, and we are sorry we were not able to provide the comfortable stay you deserved.Best regards Duc
