Bad customer service room with no AC broken air dryer

    rating14 Jul 2025

The worst hotel ever!!!I booked a room with a large bed and city view. But the front desk gave me a handicapped room with a small bed and view of a dirty house roof. (I think the front desk purposefully gave me a bad room because he clearly knew this is not the room type I booked.) I was too tired and didn’t want to argue, so I just took a shower, but I found the drainage is clogged and there’s no air conditioning in the room (the AC control penal is completely out of electricity.) It’s 28 degrees in Paris!I had to go to the front desk and changed a room. It took me 30 minutes to pack everything and move my luggages to the new room and the front desk didn’t offer to help me, nor did he apologize. The next morning, my husband found the hair dryer in the new room is broken (cord is not attached firmly and thus no air comes out) so I went to the front desk again. He just gave me a portable hair dryer without any apology. The back to back problems have seriously disrupted my stay and wasted me a lot of time going back and forth to report problems and move luggages. I asked if there’s anyone I could talk to about my bad experience. Front desk said he could not do anything and I had to contact manager, but the manager is not here until I check out. I told him that he left me no other choice but to leave a bad review after I check out. He said he didn’t care. The total experience at this hotel is just a torture and apparently this hotel doesn’t care about customers at all.

    Excellent value for Paris

    rating21 Apr 2024

Its a 3 star but - compared to others that I have stayed in in this same area - is more modern and is better value. The staff on reception were always polite and despite a few niggles e.g. no coffee creamer nor stirrer left for any of my 4 nights stay, the reception staff did provide said creamer when asked. Great & very close transport links to the rest of Paris but not so good for the airport. But I would stay here again if coming here to Paris.

    Affordable Hotel that Worked Well!

    rating19 Nov 2023

This hotel is affordable, clean, friendly and a great option for those travelling on a budget or coming from Canada where the euro is so high compared to CAD$. We purchased Navigo Decouverte pass at the airport and travelled so easily to all the tourist attractions by metro from Place d’Italie metro station, 3 minutes from the hotel. We found a few good restaurants in the area to dine at after long days of touring. Fiona, the manager was very helpful making restaurant suggestions. We highly recommend this hotel if you don’t want to be in the heart of Paris.

Budget hotel with a great location

    rating26 Oct 2023

We arrived at the end of the afternoon, the hotel didn't seem full or busy. The lady at reception on the first day wasn't really friendly, the lady at checkout on the last day was very friendly, so I think it depends who is at reception to give the first impression. We had a family room, which was nice as you get 2 proper rooms. For this price in Paris it isn't easy to find. The rooms and hallways are carpeted. It seems clean at first, but I'm the type that brings Dettol wipes everywhere and they turned black. The furniture and doors seem clean at first, but upon inspection you'll see they're worn, a bit dirty, but I didn't expect much seeing the reviews where both good and bad. It is a budget hotel, nothing special, just a simple place to stay and sleep as you'll be out and about the whole day. So for us this was OK, but think we'll look for something else next time. They had an safe in the rooms, but no fridge. The first night there was a dirty towel in the bathroom, the other towels seemed OK, but one had a hair on it and also found a hair in the bath. The floor wasn't clean, but we always take slippers with us to hotels. We also found a dirty pillow on my daughters bed, luckily they provide extra in the closet, so we just swapped it ourselves. The chairs had stains on them. The bedsheets seem clean, but didn't really seem to fit, also the beds gave me a backache. One room had a window street side, so that can be noisy. I also heard the underground faintly when I'm in the bathroom. It is not soundproof as we also heard the neighbours and housekeeping in the morning, so you'll need earplugs if you're a light sleeper. The door in between the rooms was really heavy, so we didn't let the kids sleep alone in the other room, didn't feel safe that they could lock themselves in. The outside door doesn't have a peephole and one of the lights in the corridor stays on all the time, it even has a sensor, so when the neighbours walk passed, 2 extra lights go on. One room had a walk-in shower (the floor was creaky), the other had a bath. The glass didn't seem to keep the water out in both bathrooms, so poor design I guess. They provide soap in dispensers, there is no hair conditioner or body lotion. Housekeeping once left a roll of binliners and the other time they left a dirty sponge. They do come everyday and change the towels, but not the bedsheets (that's OK, we stayed 4 nights). They never hoovered the 4 nights we stayed (I have a way to tell). Every room has a small kettle for tea, but the cups are paper cups, they only provide instant coffee. One night there was a weed smell in the corridor to the elevators. I read that in another review, so might be the staff smoking... We didn't have breakfast there. The only good thing why one could consider this hotel is the location. It's right at Place d'Italie, with the mall opposite the street and the metro also right in front. You can take lines 5, 6 and 7 and it felt very convenient. We loved the Avenue d'Italie and Avenue de Choisy as that is Chinatown with loads of good food. Would like to stay in the same location next time, just maybe another hotel for us.
