    Serious Lack of Professionalism

    rating29 Mar 2026

We did not request or want any kind of upgrade upon arrival. However, your employee Emilia informed us that we would be receiving one. Before finalizing payment, I specifically asked what would happen regarding the extra room so we could understand the situation. Emilia assured us she would handle it, so we proceeded to pay the amount she instructed. This issue originated entirely on your side.Following this, Sam informed us that the mistake would be taken out of Emilia’s pocket, which is completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and not our responsibility to resolve. His behavior throughout the situation was far from professional and did not reflect the standards expected in hospitality. The situation escalated further when we were not allowed to leave the hotel until we paid for an additional person’s breakfast, which we did. Despite this, at the end of our stay, Sam instructed Emilia to charge us again for an extra breakfast.Additionally, the overall experience did not meet expectations. The breakfast was overpriced for what was offered, with very limited selections and cold eggs. The room lacked basic amenities, as there was neither a fridge nor even water provided. Furthermore, the towels in the bathroom had an unpleasant smell, which is unacceptable for any hotel standard. You may deny these events, but it does not change our experience. We had nine people present who witnessed the behavior and the way we were treated. We also have video evidence of the incidents and are prepared to share it publicly if necessary.

Sam at the reception should be fired!!!!

Our stay began on a positive note as we arrived to celebrate three special birthdays—my mother’s, my son’s, and my best friend’s. Upon check-in, the receptionist informed us that, in order to keep us all on the same floor, one of our rooms would be upgraded from a two-bedroom to a three-bedroom. I clarified the change and was reassured that everything would be handled on their end, including coordination with Booking.com. We proceeded with payment based on that understanding.Unfortunately, later that evening, we were approached by a supervisor who confronted us about the situation in an unprofessional and accusatory manner. He insisted that we needed to pay for the additional room, claiming that we had requested the upgrade—which is simply not true. We had confirmed the arrangement prior to payment and trusted the staff’s assurance that everything was in order. As someone who works in the service industry, I understand that when a mistake originates from the establishment, it is their responsibility to resolve it—not the guest’s. This interaction was disappointing and overshadowed what should have been a celebratory trip. That said, I do want to highlight that the dinner service was excellent, and the restaurant staff were truly wonderful. Unfortunately, the lack of professionalism and hospitality from the front desk staff left a lasting negative impression. - add in that the supervisor cornered us as we were going out to celebrate my best friend’s birthday. That he attempted to guilt trip us that they receptionist would bear the financial burden of the mistake. He got more and more aggressive as the conversation went on. He would not allow me to call the rest of our group to talk about the matter and he blocked our way from leaving to pay him breakfast fee for the room by force Here’s a polished and strengthened version of your review with the additional details clearly and effectively integrated:Our stay began on a positive note as we arrived to celebrate three special birthdays—my mother’s, my son’s, and my best friend’s. I clarified the change and was reassured that everything would be handled on their end, including coordination with Booking.com. We proceeded with payment based on that understanding.Unfortunately, later that evening, the situation escalated in a very upsetting way. As we were heading out to celebrate my best friend’s birthday, a supervisor approached and effectively cornered us. His manner was unprofessional, accusatory, and increasingly aggressive. He insisted that we needed to pay for the additional room, claiming that we had requested the upgrade—which is simply not true.Despite our explanation that the arrangement had been confirmed prior to payment, he attempted to guilt-trip us by saying that the receptionist would personally bear the financial consequences of the mistake. This was extremely inappropriate and uncomfortable. He also refused to allow me to call the rest of our group to discuss the situation and physically blocked our way from leaving, pressuring us to pay additional fees (including a breakfast charge) on the spot.As someone who works in the service industry, I understand that when a mistake originates from the establishment, it is their responsibility to resolve it—not the guest’s. This interaction was deeply disappointing and overshadowed what should have been a joyful and celebratory trip.To top that off the supervisor Sam who created all these issues with us had left a note to demand more money from us 2 minutes before our check out for an claimed unpaid breakfast for one of us despite demanding we pay it the first day!!

    Would use this hotel again

A basic, no frills, but clean and acceptable accommodation in a convenient location for Paris and Disneyland Paris. We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and our party consisted of me and my husband in a double room and my 2 daughters and their families in family rooms which consisted of a double bed and bunk beds and a travel cot was also made available. Each room had an en-suite with either a bath and shower or a stand-alone shower. Tea making facilities were also available although only paper cups in the room. Plenty of free parking at the hotel , continental breakfast available at extra cost and a bar facility also available. Very pleasant and helpful reception staff. The hotel could have done with some TLC for example one door had cracked glass in it, some carpets were marked, some paint was scuffed and paths needed weeding . Also the room was not replenished with tea/coffee although I am sure it would have been available upon request and the same with the breakfast service where items were replenished when I asked . Across the road is a wonderful boulangerie with a vast range of pastries, breads, cakes, tarts, salads and drinks and also some fast food restaurants. Within Meaux centre are some lovely brasseries . Disneyland Paris is about a 20 minute drive away and we parked at the railway station , about a 5 minute drive away, and caught the train into Paris. It cost under 6 euros to park all day and a return ticket together with a day multiple use metro ticket cost 20 euros per adult and 14 for a child . Under 5s free . Trains run about 3-4 times an hour and it takes between 25 and 35 minutes to get into Paris depending on the train you catch . Excellent value . Meaux is a lovely little town with a cathedral and some nice shops together with a river walk .
