  We had to cancel our reservation because of a medical emergency. The hotel refused to give us a refund or to allow credit for a future stay. We feel this is a harsh outcome and that the hotel could be more understanding. It’s not as if we just changed our mind. This was a serious medical issue.   A terrible stay

  The stay in Marcel was awfull! I felt like the hotel was a fraud. It havent seen 4stars and looks much better in the picture what it really is. The street is really noisy and sleeping was impossible even with ear blugs. The rooms are not sound proof at all and you can hear other people clearly trough walls. There is no real lobby there. Infront of the hotel door there is homeless people living and you have to use a doorbell everytime you want to get in, tells something about the area. The room or common areas were not clean. I was really dissapointment, hope we didint get any bugs from there!   If you need a normal hotel close to the train station..

  The main benefit for staying at this hotel is the location, as it is directly in front of the East Train Station in Paris, on the opposite side of the street. This was also the reason why I chose this. Check in is on the first floor, so you have to get in and up one level. Staff was nice, the rooms were ok.   Excellent staff and super location!

  Our experience was very good, the staff went beyond their duties to make us more comfortables and to make our stay of 12 nights very enjoyable. The location is super and very centric since the public transportation is easy and effective to use.The rooms were clean the beds very comfortable.The size of the rooms are good.   I would rate this between 3-4 (average to very good). The hotel is ideally located close to Gare Du Nord (a ten minute walk) and across from Gare d l’est. There is also a metro stop right outside. You have to buzz the door to get inside every time, having a key work on the door would be better. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We were able to leave our bags as we arrived before check in and the hotel helpfully had them placed in our room for when we checked in. There is no actual baggage room (that I was aware of) so I did not leave personal items. The rooms were nice and the bed was very comfy. They weren’t the biggest but I found it had enough room for us to walk around. The shampoo and shower gel were refilled on a daily basis. A kettle or coffee machine in the room would have been ideal. The walls were quite thin and we could hear banging in the room above us. The location itself didn’t have the best feel about it but we never felt unsafe. There was a supermarket just next to the hotel. Overall we had a nice stay here and the location was good for access to the metro to get us where we needed to go.
