  Damp, noisy and dirty

  This room in this hotel was so bad we had to leave and find other accommodation at 10pm. Thankfully the Hotel Dominique just across the road had availability at the same rate and was 100 times better. I asked for a different room as there was a terrible odor of mould and the carpet was damp, old and horribly stained. I asked for a refund politely and explained that my niece has terrible Asthma and can NOT be in that room. The gentleman behind the desk shrugged his shoulders and said "oh well" So we left. I can not get my money back through booking.com - They were not helpful either. Waste of time and money.

  Shuttle Service

  We stayed at Hotel Kuntz because it had a shuttle service to Charles de Gaulle. What a mistake to take the shuttle. The driver was over a half hour late in coming to get us and did not tell us that we'd be picking others up on the way. The driver seemed to have gotten lost in his attempt to find the second pick-up spot and had trouble finding the right road to the airport. We made our plane but were over an hour later than we'd planned to be. The person at the hotel desk kept telling us, no problem as will be well, etc. The hotel room was fine and it is indeed very close to Gare du Mord and Gare de l'Est. Just don't take a shuttle. It is also difficult to get to the hotel because of all the construction.

  Best budget hotel close to Gare Du Nord

  Small hotel but very reasonable for being close to Gare du Nord and d'Est. Literately you could walk down the street, turn the corner, cross the road and there was an underpass to the stations. Breakfast was simple but included and rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful especially when we thought trains home could be cancelled and didn't know if we would require a room for that night as well. There is no bar and restaurant is for breakfast only but there are several restaurants in the street, and it is a short walk to Gare Du Nord main road where there were plenty.The area around the hotel is very multi-cultural with lots of shops and busy at night with lots of people hanging around so I never felt nervous about walking around at night. The area is a bit neglected and untidy but not right near the hotel.

  Ok inside, surroundings not so nice

  I stayed one night for a meeting. The room was simple, but OK. There was a desk and one chair for working. there was no minibar or no coffee/the options. The internet worked OK. The view from the small balcony was towards Gare d*Est. The window and curtains made the room very quiet at night. Breakfast was simple with fresh bread - the usual way as in other small hotels in Paris. The streets around the hotel are not the best places to walk alone

  Convenient. No frills.

  Out of the Gare du Nord doors, turn left, walk to the end of the street, turn right and there it is. Even closer to the Gare de l'Est. The local area could benefit from a face-lift, but is safe enough and the hotel itself is quiet, despite the nearby trains. Reception is welcoming and multi-lingual, 24 hours a day. Lift and stairs lead to all six floors. The decor is slightly dated but clean and well maintained. There is a small shared lounge. WiFi is strong in public areas, but of varying quality elsewhere. A simple continental breakfast is available for an additional charge.
