    Lovely stay

    rating28 Dec 2024

It was great to have a clean and quiet hotel located so close to public transport and other conveniences. I will happily stay there again on trips to Paris. The staff (a big hooray for Cloe-Clothilde and Megane) were fantastic and made us feel at home.

Good priced hotel, 20 min metro time to the highlights of Paris...

    rating26 Jun 2023

Hotel just in the outskirts of Paris... On metro line 4, close to Porte de Versailles and with a private car park. Breakfast overlooking the garden will get your day off to a great start. The hotel has recently been renovated with a design that is both contemporary, enlightening and energizing. The rooms are quite small, but got everything you need. Breakfast is great, choice for everybody. Price/quality wise a good choice when your off to visit the city for the biggest part of the day. Friendly, reliable hotel - lovely breakfast baking.

    rating20 Jan 2023

This is a simple corporate hotel with quite quirky decor and simple rooms. Always friendly with comfortable rooms and good house keeping. It’s not a large hotel and the rooms are modest. The breakfast is usual French hotel style with a small kitchen and buffet serving area. But there is always a lovely selection of cakes, hams and cheeses. They sometimes serve home made cakes which are delicious and the breakfast service is very friendly. Small garden which is nice for a coffee or beer in the summer time.

    Ugh - Avoid...

    rating13 Jul 2022

Just horrible. This is in a very rough part of Pairs, on a busy main road. The rooms are TINY, the furniture very odd (metal filling cabinet as a wardrobe?).There is an unnerving smell of unflushed toilets throughout the hallways. In fact, the room was SO small that the chair for the desk does not pull out at all because the bed blocks it!The bar is tiny and hopeless. Breakfast is good but expensive - 17 Eur!And BE CAREFUL and check the bill BEFORE you check out. I was charged for 2 additional breakfasts and had to jump through hoops to get it removed.I've always found Accor brand hotels small but functional - this was just small...

    Not recommended for tourists!

    rating02 Mar 2020

We booked this hotel prior to checking the reviews thoroughly in which we discovered that lots of other reviewers disliked their stay, so we were prepared for the worst, thankfully though, it wasn't as bad as anticipated. In short, this hotel isn’t recommended unless you have a specific business in the local area of Malakoff, so definitely not for tourists. Two metros are within 10-15mins of walking, but it will take around 30mins via that to get to the center of the city. There is a small shop around the corner of the hotel. The hotel is located in the suburbs, which are pleasant enough in my opinion and give a quieter, calmer atmosphere than the busier parts of the city. The room we had was a ‘Classic Room’ with a Queen Bed. The cleanliness of the hotel room isn’t great, although the toilet, shower, and bed were clean (which is the most important in my opinion) so not actually as bad as other reviewers' experiences. However, the carpet was filthy and was in need of a significant clean, the room safe wasn’t reset so we were unable to store valuables and in trying to speak to the receptionist about it, the one on shift only spoke enough English to tell us that she didn’t understand us. The air conditioning unit was very squeaky and also very dusty and the lightbulb in the bathroom was flickering (which was mildly humorous as the hotel is themed around lightbulbs). The queen-sized bed was only two very simple beds put together with poor quality pillows and a thin duvet, enough to sleep with but not very comfortable as the mattresses felt very used and uneven. The room wasn’t small like other images I’ve seen but still felt cramped in some places. Others have commented in their reviews that there was an awful smell in the hotel walkways and the rooms and we could smell this too, it’s probably sewage systems, but in honesty, it wasn’t bad enough to disturb our stay. On the plus side, the room did have enough amenities from a mini-fridge, hand dryer and complimentary coffees with a kettle, it does offer in-room service although we didn’t try this. The room was quiet enough (air-con issues aside) although I’m not sure how busy it was as this is a quiet time of the year, so we might’ve been lucky that there were not many other guests. Others mentioned in their reviews that the lift was always busy, but we didn’t experience this when using it. On a positive, despite the language barrier above, the staff were friendly and when liaising with one of them during checkout she was helpful to arrange a taxi to the airport. The airport we traveled from was CDG so it was a good 45min+ away from the hotel, so exercise caution if you’re traveling from this. The hotel is not too expensive, but it’s not cheap either. I echo from the other reviewers that if it took a bit more pride in itself, it would be more of a pleasing stay, but for a Mercure branded hotel, it’s no way near up to the standard expected. MERCUREMALAKOFF, General Manager at Mercure Paris Parc Des Expositions, responded to this review Dear guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Our hotel is located in the suburbs of Paris, in a city called Malakoff. This city is right after Paris, only 10 minutes walking distance. But of course Paris is a very big city...There are 2 supermarkets located at only 4 minutes walking distance from the hotel, and a very big one (Monorpix) at less than 10 minutes walking distance. And there are many restaurants around. We are working hard on giving our customers a very good service and improving our product. We have just started the upgrade of the bathrooms. We really hope to have the pleasure to welcome you in a near future.Kind regards,N. GODARDGeneral Manager
