    AN EXTREMELY IN INCONSIDERATE MANAGER

    rating04 Nov 2025

I wrote a wonderful review on the Hotel D Antin Opera last year. Then last month I was unable to go for my visit which had been paid for in advance, due to health reasons. The manager refused to allow me to have a short visit in 2026 and so I have lost almost one thousand euros. I shall not recommend this hotel again. Anne Farrow

    Boutique Vibe & Great Location

    rating01 Nov 2025

Such a lovely small hotel. It is in a great location. Lots of shops, restaurants and attractions. Opera house is close and about a 15 min walk to the Louvre. The staff are friendly and my room was clean, updated and the bed was very comfortable. The rooms are small but it is France so this is what you get. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend this hotel!

    A mixed and strange experience

    rating27 Oct 2025

Location wise it couldn't be better. Positioned just behind Galeries Lafayette Haussmann and a stone throw to Opera Gariner, you have a very good position for exploring the central parts of Paris. Near communications and with the RATP bus to CDG airport travelling will be easy. The hotel is however on a narrow back street, so there's nothing fancy with the building or the nearest surroundings. The hotel is just beside the busy staff entrance of the Galeries Lafayette. On the other hand it is quiet at night (especially rooms facing away from the street). The reception has a small desk and adjoins to a lounge and bar area. Quite nice decorated with a "Gustav Klimt theme". Reception staff not overwhelmingly welcoming. Unfortunately the staff exudes amateurism. Somewhat unclear and whimsical behaviour upon arrival. This was also the case when we tried to order something from the bar - which was attended by the same staff as in the reception. The "bartender" didn't know where to find the wine bottles. After a thorough search during 10 minutes, the wine was finally served it in a whiskey tumbler.Nah...The room was very small. Hard to turn around even though we only had two small cabin bags. Nearly nothing to sit on. Beds fine though. And the AC well working. The bathroom was on the contrary strangely unnecessary large but renovated and with a well functioning shower. It was the first time though I've encountered a, otherwise fresh, bathroom without a holder for the toilet paper. The breakfast buffet had an ok, more or less, standard selection. But once again the service was amateurish: the young attendant didn't refill the plates, which were empty in a jiffy. So, there was supposed to be scrambled eggs and cheese and ham and... but some of the plates were empty. All while the young attendant calmly sat in the small breakfast kitchen and didn't seem to understand his/her task.Hotel rooms are expensive in Paris. And while Opera d'Antin is fairly affordable it was still too expensive to accept the underwhelming service. It must be at least on a basic professional level. For location: recommeded if you want to stay around the Opera area/9th arr.For the rest: look at alternatives.

Perfect hotel, lovely staff, great location.

This Hotel is a gem located in the heart of Paris next to the Opera House/Palais Garnier and even closer to the Galeries Lafayette Department Store ( I recommend eating on the 6th floor restaurant the views from the roof terrace). All the staff at the hotel, the cleanliness, the bar in the reception, a superb breakfast, the quietness of the rooms and the Gustav Klimt decor make this a perfect place to stay in the centre of Paris. In future I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The hotel came as part of a Eurostar package and the price was very competitive .A big thank you to the reception staff, the chamber staff and the lady organising rhe breakfast.
