  We requested a late check-out until 2:00 PM and even agreed to pay extra. Despite this, we were repeatedly called and pressured to leave earlier. The receptionist was a young girl: unprofessional, rude, and created unnecessary stress.People can sometimes feel uncomfortable or face unexpected situations before checking out. This is normal—sometimes there may be delays, or things may take a bit longer than expected. It is simply part of being human. There is no need to exaggerate the situation or speak in a disrespectful manner such as, “What are you doing? Why are you not finished packing?” This kind of behavior is unacceptable.She was trying to enter our room with force even that we said “ you cannot”.There is no reason to treat guests with such disrespect or to disturb their privacy.We have stayed in many hotels before and never experienced such behavior. Very disappointing. We would not stay here again.

  Good hotel for our tour group

  I stayed at the Hotel Relais Monceau while on a group tour and found it worked well for that. There was a large meeting room on the first floor and a comfortable lounge for gathering before we left in the morning. Our room was on the front of the building, but quiet, with good air conditioning during an exceptionally hot June. The bathroom had two sinks and a "French tub/shower" which requires a big step to get in and out. The breakfast room was charming, but self-serve and it was difficult to find bowls, spoons, etc. Unfortunately the elevator was out of service on our third day and was not repaired until after we left. Fortunately, we were just on the second floor. The big, tasseled key was fun, but the lock took some practice to open easily. The location of the hotel was not far from the Villiers metro station and near several good restaurants. The boulangerie across the street is outstanding! Overall, I was satisfied with this hotel for our group.

  Very disappointed in my room at this hotel.

  The best word to describe this hotel is shabby. I was in room 202 where the bathroom was totally unworkable for me. The hand-held bath wand did not have a bracket on which the wand could be attached for a normal shower. The tub was very high so entering and exiting the tub was dangerous for a senior citizen. There are no grab bars in the tub and no rubber mat for the bottom of the tub. There was no latch for the bathroom door so the bathroom door never completely closed. The door itself was "swollen" at the bottom, so it had to be lifted slightly in order to get it to partially close. The window treatment was very old and unattractive. Lighting in the room was poor. There are no closets in the room - just a rod behind the headboard which could accommodate maybe 2 or 3 hangers. The wallpaper in the hallway leading to the room is peeling in many places. Although soap and shampoo are provided, hair conditioner is not provided. This hotel certainly doesn't rate 4 stars. The only positive thing I can say about room 202 is that it was clean. I don't know what other rooms in this hotel are like. Based on my experience I would not stay here again.

  Exceeding expectations

  This is a lovely, well situated 19th century 3 story hotel. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I don’t know what more they could do to make my stay more pleasant. The breakfast is amazing. So many choices of pastries, fruit, yogurt, meats, cheeses plus mire North American choice will ensure you are ready for a full day of exploring Paris.

  Pleasant surprises all the way around!

  There are so many unique and pleasant surprises about this hotel: the bed was a California King, the key was an actual key with a big tassel on it, the room number was inlayed on the floor in front of the door, hot pot and mini fridge in the room, very close to a metro station, hot breakfast plus pastries and a bulangerie across the street.
