Poorly rated, misleadingly named, and management’s contemptuous conduct makes it one of the least advisable Accor hotels

    rating21 Apr 2026

Following recent stay (booked for April 13–15), here are four observations for anyone considering staying at this hotel:1) Low Tripadvisor ranking: ibis Paris Alésia Montparnasse is currently lowly rated No. 1,418 out of 1,881 hotels in Paris (as of April 16). DYOR on Tripadvisor and elsewhere to understand why. My own separate research also indicates that this hotel appears to have the lowest Tripadvisor rating among the 13 Accor hotels located within a 1.7 km walking radius (approx. 22 minutes according to Google Maps) of Gare Montparnasse train station.2) Misleading naming: Despite “Montparnasse” in its name, the hotel is a 22 minute walk from Gare Montparnasse train station. Many travellers searching for accommodation near the station could reasonably find this geographical attribution misleading.3) Contemptuous management attitude: The hotel manager’s behaviour toward me (an Accor loyalty programme member) was openly contemptuous uncommunicative, and unprofessional, leaving the clear impression that such guests are viewed as an inconvenience rather than one of the very reasons his property exists. In my view, this hotel manager is harming the Accor brand.4) Fixation on 'policy' trumps focus on guest exoperience: This hotel tends to hide behind 'policy / Terms & Conditions' instead of resolving customer issues. This signals indifference to the guest experience, in my view. Yet, when convenient, the hotel also chooses not to uphold Accor’s published brand promise—precisely when consistent, high-quality delivery of a hotel group's brand proposition for the customer matters most. I therefore implore Accor to hold this property accountable to one of its six core values that guide its culture and guest/customer experience: "Guest Passion — putting guests first, caring deeply about their experience, and going the extra mile".

    Wouldn’t recommend!

    rating10 Mar 2026

The staff on reception were very polite. However this hotel had a lot of school/college bookings during our stay, and the noise and disruption this caused is unacceptable Aminata WANE, Service clients/Réception at ibis Paris Alesia Montparnasse 14th, responded to this review Dear MadamThank you very much for your comment. We're very delighted and honored by your feedback about our staff. In the meantime we would like to apology for the unacceptable disturbance caused by the students during your stay.We warned them about this disrespectful behaviour. We insisted on respecting the hotel rules: quietness for the other guests and good attitude in society. We also informed the travel agent accordingly. In case of reiteration we reserve the right to stop welcoming these groups in the future. We hope our response will reassure you for the next future in our hotel.Best RegardsFrédéric BoissonneauFront Office Deputy Manager

    Pleasant, convenient and comfortable.

    rating19 Feb 2026

Have just returned from a short break in Paris and Ibis Alesia proved to be a good choice. The hotel is near Alesia Metro station, on the handy Line 4 ,which goes directly to St.Michel, Gard du Nord etc.-very convenient. It is situated in a pleasant, residential area. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathroom is well equipped with both bath and shower. The only addition which would be welcome is a hospitality tray! Being able to make a hot drink in the room is a plus!We didn't have breakfast in the hotel , but the lobby bar is a welcome place to relax , serving both hot and cold drinks.Hotel staff are friendly, courteous and efficient .The left luggage lockers are handy too, even though one has to pay for them! We would definitely stay here again. Aminata WANE, Service clients/Réception at ibis Paris Alesia Montparnasse 14th, responded to this review Dear Ms AnnaThanks a lot for your very kind feedback and tips. It's really sympathetic from you to speak about our Bar "The 49" and remark how relaxing it is to stay in.Thanks again for your coment about the courtesy and efficency of the staff. They work hard everyday to provide the most professional and a good quality of service. We well noticed your nice suggestion about the welcome hospitality tray. At the moment it is not part of the Ibis offer. Anyway we'll think about it for the future.Looking forward to seeing you when you come back,Best RegardsFrédéricFront Office Deputy Manager

Poor hotel that smells like a sewage tank

    rating06 Feb 2026

This hotel needs a major revamp and is totally unsuitable for business travelers. First of all, the carpets in the room are stained and disgusting. The rooms are tiny, the furniture is cheap and you’ll be lucky if you fit in the toilet area without falling over (very cramped)! Aside from the poor rooms, the hotel smells like sewage or a dirty diaper. There’s poor security (anyone can enter). The breakfast area is a nightmare in the morning. The eggs are questionable, they are constantly out of all cups, bowls, etc, it’s just overcrowded and unpleasant.Only positive about this place is the hard working and friendly guy behind the bar named Mohammad! Aminata WANE, Service clients/Réception at ibis Paris Alesia Montparnasse 14th, responded to this review Dear MadamThank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are truly sorry to read that your experience did not meet your expectations, especially as a business traveler. Please accept our sincere apologies for the discomfort you encounterred.Your comments about the carpets, room layout, breakfast organization, and security have been taken very seriously.
