  Basic, no gluten free or tea and coffee in rooms

  We booked through Love Holidays and were very clear that we wanted breakfast included and tea and coffee facilities in room. There are no tea and coffee facilities in room. We asked at reception and were told we had to buy tea or coffee. Previous reviewers have mentioned access to tea and coffee all day in foyer. This is not true. The nearest place for takeaway tea is gare du l’Est station Starbucks. About 9 minutes away. Firstly, staff are pleasant. No issues there. This is a budget no frills hotel. Environment is clean. Fresh towels daily. Location. Everywhere you go will be 7 euros or 35-40 min walk . There are closer venues, though we were right beside metro , which, has a worker so you can avoid machines and buy tickets into centre. Hotel was noisy. The first night there was clanging all night. Sirens will be heard day and night. Breakfast was some French croissants, an egg, tomatoes, cucumber, ham,chicken , cornflakes, yoghurt, fruit. The only thing labelled gluten free was muesli. Breakfast is served 630am - 10 am and 11 am at weekends. The tea is disappointing. It’s loose tea and the diffusers often have debris of previous tea in them. They don’t seal properly. Theres no decaffeinated. The diffusers aren’t cleaned properly and one morning I had to ask for one.   It was cold in the room, we slept with hats on, the bathroom sink was clogged, the bathroom needs renovation. Good location.

  Me and my friend went here for a weekend getaway at the start of December, when we got there we were given our room key and went up to our room, there was somebody in the room that we got told to go check into, the card works and everything. We went back downstairs and told the receptionist and it took her 45 minutes to get back to us, very unhelpful and lack of communication. Apart from that, the location is good with the Metro station right next to it and there is a really nice Italian just the road. If you are two young girls beware of the town about a 10 minute walk me and my friend got followed around there all the way to the Eiffel Tower, so be careful with that. The breakfast was decent and the room was tidy apart from the bath, which had cracks in it where I am unfortunate hurt my foot.

  Great place to use as a base for your Parisian adventures

  Ok so 'bad' point first it is a hotel that clearly needs some investment and updating (I did actually see rooms being refurbished during my stay) but thats literally my only negative thing to say. Onto the 'good', the hotel is in a fabulous location, close to great transport links Gare Du L' Est, Gare Du Nord and the metro so finding our way round Paris was easy. There are sone nice restaurants, shops and bakery's in the area too. The reception staff were lovely and friendly even letting us check in a bit early with no fuss. They were very helpful and accommodating. The housekeeping staff we encountered were fabulous, our room was always clean and tidy and we had no issues with the beds (they were very comfy) or the bedding. The choice at breakfast is continental (no hot options apart from boiled eggs) but there was plenty of choice from pastries, to fruit, bread to cereal, ham to cheese- i never went hungry which was good when our days were spent exploring Paris as much as we could. The bathroom was slightly dark could do with more light but if you switch the light on the mirror on you can add more light into the room.What we wanted was somewhere clean and safe to use as a Base and we got exactly that. When I come back to Paris I would definitely stay here again.
