One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had

    rating07 Apr 2026

Avoid This Hotel at All Costs – Misleading, Poor Conditions, No AccountabilityWe booked this Ibis hotel in Paris through lastminute.com expecting a standard double room based on the images and description provided. What we arrived to was completely different. The room was extremely small to the point where two people could not move around comfortably or even store luggage properly. There was no indication of the room size (11m²) anywhere during the booking process, and the photos used online were highly misleading. The condition of the room and hotel was also unacceptable. The carpet was visibly dirty, the TV frame looked damaged or melted, and the shower door did not close properly. The general condition of the hotel was poor, including dirty floors that felt sticky and a reception area that appeared neglected. When we raised the issue immediately, we were met with unhelpful and contradictory responses from staff. The deputy manager, Clara Perinot, initially stated that all rooms were the same size. When challenged, she changed her explanation, saying only family rooms were larger but unavailable. She also made statements about room locations that simply did not make sense. We offered to pay for an upgrade to a larger room, but no alternatives were offered or shown to us. The only option mentioned was a disabled access room, which was not shown to us either. No effort was made to resolve the situation or retain us as guests. To make matters worse, after we left the hotel due to these issues, false information was later provided to the booking platform. Claims were made that we had been offered early check-in, late check-out, and alternative rooms, none of which is true. The refund process has been equally frustrating, with incorrect calculations based on hotel rates that have nothing to do with what we actually paid, as well as currency conversion discrepancies.Overall, this experience reflects misleading advertising, poor hotel standards, lack of basic customer service, and a complete absence of accountability. If you value honesty, cleanliness, and basic comfort, I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. La Réception, Autre at Ibis Styles Paris Montmartre Nord, responded to this review Dear Vitaly ZVYAGINTSEV,I am sincerely surprised by your review, which does not reflect the reality of your stay or the exchanges we had on site. Your lack of honesty regarding how our conversation is described in this comment is particularly surprising. You told me that you acknowledged your mistake in judgment when booking this hotel, considering the expectations of the person accompanying you, but reading your review, I do not find those words reflected. First of all, you made your reservation through a third-party website and not through the hotel’s official website. As such, any modification, cancellation, or refund conditions are managed exclusively by the platform you used to book. I am not able to intervene directly in this type of reservation, unlike bookings made through our official channels.Furthermore, upon your arrival, we made a kind gesture by offering you an early check-in at 11:00 a.m., whereas the standard check-in time is 2:00 p.m.Regarding the room size, this information is clearly stated on official booking platforms. When you came to the reception desk, you expressed your dissatisfaction and insisted on being upgraded, even stating that your stay would “ruin your relationship” if no solution was found. While I understand your disappointment, I clearly informed you that no higher-category room was available at the time of your request, as the hotel was fully booked. Contrary to what you claim, larger rooms do exist, but I clearly explain : they were all already reserved by families or occupied.I would also like to emphasize that my communication remained consistent throughout, and I took the time to speak with you calmly to explain the situation. No contradictory information was given. You mentioned that no effort was made to retain you as a guest; however, you clearly expressed your intention to leave if no upgrade was available, which unfortunately left no alternative given the hotel’s full occupancy.Regarding your refund request, I would like to remind you that you selected a non-cancellable, non-refundable rate. In addition, as your booking was made through a third party, commissions and specific conditions apply, meaning that any request must be handled directly with the platform you used. That is not within our direct responsibility. If our hotel truly had to be avoided as you wrote, our guests would not have given it a rating of 8.3/10 based on 1,330 reviews only on the website through which you made the reservation. Finally, for your future stays, I recommend booking through official hotel websites. This ensures accurate information and allows for easier management of your reservation through direct communication with the hotel customer service than through an online platform. Clara, the Deputy Manager

    Disappointing

    rating05 Jan 2026

I would not advise on booking this hotel as they are undergoing refurbishment. A really disappointing trip to turn up to the whole of the facade covered in scaffolding with work stations and portable toilets outside and the constant sound of drilling. The hotel have not informed the broker, Lastminute.com, therefore they are continuing to trade without informing the customer. No where on the hotel website or lastminute.com does it say currently undergoing refurbishment. I raised the concern with Lastminute.com as this is hiding important information from the customer. I was advised by them that as the inside was okay they couldn't understand my concern with the outside and the drilling??? Staff were excellent. Rooms were very small. La Réception, Autre at Ibis Styles Paris Montmartre Nord, responded to this review Dear Vicki,We would like to provide some clarification regarding the works mentioned and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the noise. The renovation of the exterior façade was expressly required by the City of Paris and was therefore mandatory. In order to minimize any disturbance to our guests, workers do not begin before 9:30 a.m. and finish no later than 5:00 p.m., specifically to avoid impacting our guests’ sleep and comfort. There was indeed some exceptional noise on the morning of December 23rd, due to the removal and replacement of a window guardrail. This was a one-off intervention and did not last the entire day.We would also like to clarify that the renovation of the street-facing façade of the building is now completed. Finally, we would like to sincerely thank you for your compliments regarding our staff, who are committed to providing the best possible service to our guests.Best Regards

Lovely hotel which is a short walk to the metro

    rating10 Sept 2025

Me and my wife recently had a trip to Paris and stayed in this hotel. I had read a number of reviews which complain about the size of the rooms, firstly I will say yes they are small, however it had no impact whatsoever on our stay. The rooms have everything you need in them, plenty of lighting, and excellent shower and a range of plug sockets including usb charger points. There is a lift, which we were thankful for given our room was in the 5th floor🤭. The breakfast offering is excellent, there was a range of fresh breads, as well as croissants and pain au chocolat available, there was also a range of spreads (jams, biscoff etc), cold meats and cheese to choose from. We didn’t have them but there was also an option to have a boiled egg. The best thing was the range of drinks on offer, the fruit juice was very tasty, the selection of teas was unexpected but amazing, and there was also an option to have a filter coffee (there was a coffee machine, I tried it but wasn’t a fan, admittedly I am fussy when it comes to coffee so I wouldn’t mark them down for that). All in all a fantastic stay, with very friendly welcoming staff, we would definitely visit here again. Norbert Imbert, General Manager at Ibis Styles Paris Montmartre Nord, responded to this review Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you and your wife enjoyed your stay, the comfort of the room, and our breakfast selection.Your kind words about our team mean a lot to us. We’ll be very happy to welcome you again on your next visit to Paris!Kind regards,The Ibis Styles Montmartre Nord Team

Superbly-priced hotel close to Sacre Coeur

    rating10 Mar 2025

Excellent value hotel - just 5 min flat walk to Jules Jo metro with super convenient Monoprix supermarket en route. Area is very safe with Sacre Coeur 10-15 away. Hotel is clean with an impressive breakfast selection considering the price of the room. Hotel operates 24/7 with very friendly, professional staff. Rooms are adequately sized, with good sized shower rooms. Would recommend for anyone wanting a well-priced hotel room in this area - great for families too. Would stay again no question. Worst European Hotel Room EVER

    rating30 Sept 2024

Jebus. DON'T STAY HERE. No secure internet. The bathroom is NOT in any way handicap accessible and is roughly the size of 2 public restroom stalls in the states. There is barely enough room to walk around the bed (sideways only, on the window side). On the other side of the bed you can stretch your leg and put your foot IN the bathroom. And I'm only 5'3". There's literally not enough room for a bedside table on either side. Yes, we've stayed in many a tiny European hotel room. This one doesn't even have room for a luggage rack. If my husband is on the edge of the bed I have to get ON the bed ro get to my side. There are pieces falling off the wall. The wallpaper in the hallway is peeling. I feel lied to. The wifi is free -- but unsecured and useless. Save your money. It's like a step up from a hostel. I've stayed in ibis Styles before. NEVER EVER EVER again. Let's see, any positives? Desk clerk is nice. They're a block away from a vibrant neighborhood. It's decorated cute on the surface. However, I need a room where I don't bang my elbow on the wall while changing shirts. Which actually happened. I will be demanding a refund and moving elsewhere for the rest of my stay. Benoit PETILLION , Other at Ibis Styles Paris Montmartre Nord, responded to this review Dear EllenMTrips,Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the ibis Styles Paris Montmartre Nord on TripAdvisor, Google Reviews and Survey From A.L.L. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. At Ibis Styles, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us.Indeed, our rooms are small like many hotels in Paris, and we made the choice to optimize the layout so as not to lose space and make our rooms comfortable. Also, for your next stay here or in a other hotel, do not hesitate to come at the front desk to find a solution to have a better and confortable stay.We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future.Sincerely,BenoitDeputy Manager
