  Clean and Basic Stay in a walkable location

  We are a family of 4 and needed a hotel room that could accommodate all of us. The Jarry Hotel did an excellent job providing a clean, basic, comfortable place to stay within walking distance of all major attractions. This is a non-smoking hotel. There is no elevator and no air-conditioning. Our room was clean, adequately sized, and worked well for our family. We loved being able to walk out the door and get fresh fruit, a good meal, fresh bread and fresh cheese. This is an area with a lot of options. There was good access to Metro and to train stations. We really enjoyed our stay at Jarry Hotel.

  Cosy hotel that does the trick

  Great little hotel for the price. Couldl be a bit small but perfect if you're viewing the sights. Close to the metro and Gare de l'Est, hence easy to get to the tourist sights by Meto. Friendly staff, 24 hour concierge, and breakfast room for a basic breakfast. Great for the price.

  Hotel desperately in need of refurbishment. Basically clean. Kettle supplied but no tea or coffee or cups. No lift and spiral staircase up to rooms. Difficult for older people and no help offered. Rubber mats keeping fire doors open on landing - very dangerous - no health and safety here. Staff pleasant and offered information when asked. Noisy at night in street outside and very dirty area, so much litter everywhere. Disappointing as looked good from photograph on website.

  Hotel was poor. Corridors noisy and room not attractive at all. However, this is an ideal place for a solo traveller who is on a budget and not concerned about luxury. The area isn’t the best although the proximity to the metro makes it better.

  The best I can say about Jarry is that the towels were clean, plenty of hot water in the shower and it had a reasonable bed. If that was my only experience I would have been happy, since it was simply a stop over for one night. However, what a night! At 2am I heard light knocking on my door. I ignored it assuming someone was returning late, and knocked on the wrong door. A few minutes later the door was opened and a head appeared round the door, it was then shut again. I was wide awake, concerned about how secure I was. So I got up, in my boxer shorts - and popped my head round the door. The receptionist politely but firmly told me I ten minutes to switch to the next door room. My room was needed for guests just arrived (at 2.30am). So, almost naked, I had to gather my possessions and switch rooms. It took an hour to then get back to sleep because I was disturbed by every slight sound. The receptionist did apologize for putting me 'in the wrong room' but I was still pressured to change rooms in the middle of the night. Not terribly impressive.
