  Terrible Experience

  When we arrived at Hotel Le Chat with our 17 year old, we were shocked. The hotel entrance sits next to XXX adult stores. The elevator sounded as if it hadn’t been maintenanced in years. The man at the front desk seemed agitated to have to deal with anyone. We booked two rooms. When we entered the room it was dark, small and smelled horrible as if the toilet was broken. I began looking at reviews on other sites and saw recent reviews of theft of a watch by hotel staff and that was enough for me to book another hotel and leave immediately. When I attempted to check out and explained the room was not as described. He told me have Expedia call me. It has been over a week and hotels.com said they have received no response. I never write reviews but after my experience I felt compelled to do so. I hope my review prevents someone from having the horrible experience at Hotel Le Chat Noir that we had.   A terrible and alarming experience.

  Toilets were blocked for three days, the bathroom was filthy with mold and visible neglect, and even the bed runner was dirty — completely unacceptable for a so-called 4-star hotel.Worse still, security and trust were clearly compromised. My sister‘s watch disappeared from the room, and a nearly new personal cosmetic product was found half empty, strongly suggesting misuse. The hotel made no effort to investigate and showed zero concern.We have sent three formal emails. To this day, we have received no response. This silence reflects a total lack of respect, accountability and professionalism.This hotel fails in hygiene, security and guest care. Not trustworthy. Avoid.

  Stay away from Le Chat Noir Hotel

  This was an extremely bad experience and the most disappointing hotel stay we have ever had.From the very first day, Hotel Le Chat Noir failed at the most basic level. The toilets in room were blocked and unusable for three consecutive days (25–27 December) which caused great discomfort. The bathroom was also in a very bad state of hygiene, with visible mold, mildew and green residue in the bathtub, clearly caused by prolonged lack of proper cleaning. Photographic evidence was sent, yet the situation was not properly addressed. Even the toilet itself remained dirty.Upon arrival, the bed runner was visibly dirty — something that is simply unacceptable in any hotel, especially one claiming to be 4-star status.The most serious issues occurred at the end of the stay. On 1 January, my daughter accidentally left her watch in the room. When we returned, it had disappeared. Despite multiple requests, the reception provided only vague answers, made no visible attempt to investigate, did not formally record the incident, did not contact housekeeping, and showed no concern whatsoever.Additionally, a nearly new 100 ml setting spray purchased just days earlier at Sephora on the Champs-Élysées was found half empty, strongly suggesting it had been used during our absence. This raises serious concerns about the safety of guests’ personal belongings.I sent three formal emails detailing these issues and requesting explanations. To this day, I have received no response at all. This silence demonstrates a complete lack of respect, accountability, professionalism and consideration for guests.This hotel fails in hygiene, maintenance, security and customer care. It does not meet the standards of a 4-star hotel under any reasonable criteria. I strongly advise future guests to avoid staying here.

  A well located hotel for your stay in Paris

  The staff at Le Chat Noir were friendly. We had two connecting rooms, and one (102) was much better than the other (101) in terms of space and storage. We were on the first floor with our rooms right off the breakfast area. We did not experience any noise from other guests at the hotel as some reviews mentioned. There is a lot of activity outside at night, but if your windows are closed the noise is not a problem. The metro is right across the street, and the entire Montmartre area is a close walk away. It was pricey for what you got but I found it difficult to find adjoining rooms in Paris, so our choices were limited.   Wonderful hotel

  The hotel was wonderful. In the heart of Paris, very close to the Moulin Rouge.Convenient location. Very clean and nice bathroom. On the upper floors the rooms have a balcony with a view of the Eiffel Tower, but I preferred a larger room on the lower floor. The hotel immediately responded to my request and I received a wonderful larger room at no extra charge.I have no complaints - I will visit it again on my next visit to Paris.
